Is it fun hiding away all those emotions? Do you find joy in pretending to be the most awesome person when you are actually feeling like crap of the earth? You are gaining nothing by pretending to be ok when you aren’t.
.
I believe as Christians, we feel it is our duty to put on a brave face and lead people to believe that everything is ok and nothing is wrong because we do not want to present to the world that living as a Christian can sometimes be hard. This is one of the main things I am trying to get across to the world: Being a Christian doesn’t make life easier (if anything, harder).
.
I read in an article on crosswalk.com that pretending you are ok when you aren’t is the equivalent to being sick with an illness, but not doing anything about it. I mean, if that doesn’t open your eyes, I’m not sure what will. Why would you carry on in life with a sickness you know you need to get help with so you can feel better just for the sake of saving face?
.
Please reach out to someone if you are having troubles or issues that you cannot deal with alone. We need to be a community of people in this world, helping one another, making the world an actual better place to live while we are here.
.
Lastly, think about how much easier it would be to nip it in the bud from the start than to let it liner on and on for some time before you get help with it. It’s much easier the sooner you handle a problem. Also, you aren’t winning an award for getting up a brave face when you are truly hurting. And if it has to do with not wanting to make people feel uncomfortable, that’s really on them, not you. We shouldn’t always be super sensitive for everyone else, in turn hurting ourselves more.
.
Have an amazing day and stop pretending. It’s a waste of energy.
