This is a review of Samurai Jack as far as I have seen it. I am about 6 episodes in and wanted to write this now. I intend to finish the series and then compare that review to this one to see if/how my opinions on it have shifted.

What is Samurai Jack

It was an animated TV series which aired in the early 2000's.

Plot

The story of the show is as follows: an ancient demon, Aku, is brought back to earth, destroying the kingdom over which the father of the protagonist reigned. The main character is then sent all over the world to train to kill Aku When he and the demon square off for the first time, Aku opens a portal into the future and sends Jack into a future where Aku rules the world.

Art

Source
The art is odd. At times it is a stylized and modern take on traditional Japanese art, but mostly it has that "power puff girls" type art. I general, I do not like this art at all. Everything just looks off, eyes in particular. I cannot imagine my opinion on this changing, but we will see I guess.

Scripting

Ok the writing is downright juvenile. I know it was designed as a kids animated series, but other shows like it, such as Avatar, have much more depth and more mature dialogue. I hope this is just since the show is only a few episodes in, but I will have a real hard time finishing this if this does not change.

Good post. Grettings from Venezuela.

Venezuela presente... Esa serie es buena, acá la dieron hace mucho tiempo...

Super thick!! Sumaria Jack final fight was my least favorite episode, I know right? This season was absolutely amazing and Genndy at his finest. However, I was both disappointed and somewhat insulted by this finale. I have waited 13 years for this ending only to witness the most rushed episode in the whole series, the action wasn't grand, the writing was really lazy, and the ending was a deadbeat. As if, all those friends, the years of adventure, and even his first love never existed. I love this season, Genndy, but I hate the ending.

This one of my favorite cartons, love the art so much.
