When I was a kid I had family members who would get upset at things that caused them angst. Let me rephrase this. They would melt-the-frig-down. It was embarrassing seeing people act like this, then as the saying goes- The sins of the father...(Well my father is one of the chillest people I know, but that's another story.) I'm talking straight up meltdowns in the middle of WalMart when I didn't get a toy, or screaming in the middle of the classroom when I was being picked on. It was colorful to sat the least
Then I started dating women who exhibited some of the same characteristics.
The cycle continued.
Intermittent arguments, glasses breaking, shouting- it was tiring. I definitely got some gray hairs in the process.
To my understanding the same part of the brain that deals with panic are the same ones that deal with fear and anger (The amygdala for those who are going to fact check)
Fast forward to today and I have a new girlfriend, her name is Binance but don't tell her I cheat on her sometimes with Bittrex. I don't think they would mind if they ever found out about each other, I'm pretty sure they are seeing other people too. I message them pretty often and today both of them gave me some bad news.
Right now newbs to the market are having that same part of their brain being activated. What was once a healthy shot of dopamine whenever they checked their balances is now being replaced with Adrenaline and Cortisol.
They feel the same way I felt as a kid at Walmart. Something I want is being taken away. Some of us are laughing at our pain, some are OK with it because they bought into crypto so long ago they are in #profitland anyway. As for myself I'm actually somewhere in the middle.
I met someone who by example showed me how to handle crisis, how to handle what some people in a similar situation would pretty much panic in.
His name is Ben.
3 sequential audits while running 2 millon dollar operations is a lot to shoulder for a person. He did amongst DOZENS of other things going on I'm sure I had no idea of.
His response to a lot of these situations was pretty straightforward and simple;
"Something like this is going to happen anyway so why the hell am I going to freak out over it? The sooner I figure out a solution the sooner this will be over so I might as well work on that 1st. After it solved, then I can freak out."
It wasn't macho posturing. It was practical resolution and you can deal with a lot living this way.
So if this post reaches you and you were about to hit the panic button remember a few key points for life:
It's not about the problem it's the solution
Talk it through, sometimes literally talking yourself off that virtual ledge is the way to go
