I just recently flew over to Thailand to go scuba diving. I really wanted to see some whale sharks, since they have been sighted for the past few weeks over at Sail Rock, Koh Tao, Thailand.
I stayed one and a half nights in Bankgok. I am saying that because my flight came in at 2:25 am, so I ended up having a full day to go sight seeing in Bangkok and the following day I flew out to Koh Samui with a layover in Phuket. I bought last minute airplane tickets from sky scanner.com, so I got some not so good flights due to last minute decisions.
This is Wat Rachanatdaram: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wat_Ratchanatdaram
I arrived at about 10 pm in Koh Samui and booked my stay at the OZO Chaweng Samui Hotel. I really liked my room and my stay at this hotel. http://www.ozohotels.com/chaweng-samui/

From my hotel room the next day...
The room:
I was hungry and it was about midnight, so I asked where I can go for food. The front desk said I should try the night food market over by the lake.
And I ended up buying a Chicken Pita. It was delicious!
I was very excited to go diving at Sail Rock finally! I asked for a wake up call for 6am, so I could be awake enough to meet up at 7:10am at the front of the hotel. I booked all my two days of diving with Silent Divers: https://silentdivers.com
This is where we took off from to get to Sail Rock:
Day 1: Sail Rock: 2 dives
I came back about 1:30pm from my first day of diving, so I decided to check out Chaweng. I was hungry, so I went to "Stacked" which is part of OZO Chaweng Samui right outside of the hotel.
There is a outside shopping mall called Central Festival up the road from my hotel:
The view from Central Festival, where it's facing the lake.
A Hard Rock Cafe, but I never went inside.
I decided to take some photos at night with my camera. I have a mirrorless Sony Alpha A7sii:
I ended up going back to "Stacked" because their burgers were pretty good, so I decided for a filet mignon this time.
Day 2: Chumphon Pinnacle: 1 dive
Day 2: Shark Island: 1 Dive
It was my final day in Koh Samui after my second day of diving. I enjoyed my dives, but I just wish I would of seen a whale shark.
I went to see the sunset at "Big Buddha", where I had to take a taxi. I ended up walking around the shore line to find me a good Thai restaurant.
That dish was delicious! A bit spicy too!
Bike week was going on that night, so I ended up checking it out by the lake.
The next morning, I decided to take photos of the sunrise, so I did what I usually don't do and that was getting up at 5:40am.
I went back to bed after watching the sunrise and slept for a couple of hours. I had breakfast at the hotel, which was good.
I had to check out by noon. I had lunch at "Stacked" again and afterwards, I got a taxi and went to the airport. Everyone waiting for a flight out had to wait outside. It was very hot and humid, but I was okay once I got under a fan.
I flew to Bangkok from Koh Samui, which is only a 55 minute flight. I had a 9 hour layover, so I met up with the same friend that showed me around when I went sight seeing in Bangkok. I couldn't check in because it was way too early, but thank goodness at Suvarnabhumi Airport they have a service to watch your baggage. I think I spent 200 baht, which is less than $6!
And so my journey ended.
That is one fantastic trip you had. love the photos. I love your posts a lot and you now have a new follower.
Thank you!
Que Maravilloso Lugar, Necesito visitar lugares así :D
¡Hazlo realidad!

I am from Orlando...what part of Florida are you living in?
On the east coast...Merritt Island area
I miss all the rocket launches, especially the ones at night with the shuttle. When I was a student at UCF, I was part of a co-op program where I got to work with Space United. I got to see the space shuttles in their hangars. I almost got to go inside the cockpit in one of them. I did get to go onto the launch pad. I did get to watch a US military rocket go up, while I was working there for a semester.
Wow. Amazing. I followed you now. Hope to interact with you more soon. :)
Thanks! Sure thing!
Wow! Thanks for taking us scuba diving with you!
You are very welcome!
Definitely gonna add this to my bucket list!
It's definitely a place to hit up.
Thailand's on my bucket list! That looks like an amazing trip. I love your videos! What did you use to shoot in while underwater?
I used my GoPro hero 5 with an underwater casing.
Thailand is a really incredible place. I visited south Thailand in 2011 and so far was one of my best trip. thank you for share your trip
My first trip to Thailand was in 1997. I went back 20 years later.
I hope one day come back to Thailand my friend and hope it won't take 20 years ahahaha. Peace and Love brother
Yeah. It all depends on if I have the funds.
Looks like you had a great time - thanks for sharing your trip. Pity you didn't see any whale sharks, but I bet all that lovely food helped make up for it :)
Yeah. I had a good time. I just looked at sailrockdailynews' channel on youtube and there were 5 whale sharks spotted yesterday where I went diving...maybe one of these days I'll see one
Looks like an all-around great trip, both in the water and on land. My son and I both dive and would love to hear about other trips. Thailand is definitely on our list.
I am from Florida. I dove Devil's Den. Here is my Steemit article on that dive: https://steemit.com/travel/@scubasteve/devil-s-den
Wow ! As a Thai citizen I am very happy to know that you have enjoyed your trip. Many part's in the southern part of Thailand are home to one of the most beautiful beaches and islands ever !!
I am planning on diving the Similan Islands. I wanted to this time around, but I found out that it's not the right season. I hope to go sometime at the end of the year.
You make me miss Thailand so badly. Was there for four weeks this year. Such a great time
