Wow, that is a really good news for you. I am in the same life situation like you were, I started now data analysis, hopefully will be good enough! This is a really good news, I will learn harder now! Thanks and good luck

I wish you luck!

Wow! Great post. I was just watching a video of you on YouTube from 1 year ago discussing Steemit ( you were in to it for one week).
The first thing I noticed about you was that you had a talent I think many people do not have!
That is you have the ability to THINK! I mean to just sit and think and not do anything else. That's hard to do, but I bet you are great at it. Do more of it.
I'm not surprised at your talent
Use your talent to do something unique and game changing on the Steemit site.
Good Luck, no I mean great work!

Wow, thanks for the compliments!!

Yes, I have some great ideas for the Steemit blockchain that I am super excited to get started on. I hope these things can come to fruition, because they would be great for the Steem currency and the Steemit users themselves.

I know I'm late to the party here, but I'm new to Steemit, and browsing in some of the old posts.

This post was really incredible. That is a brilliant story you went on, and I totally get it. I write fiction, and I never want to make it just passable or good, I always want to do my best. I've got a few projects which I have on hold simply because I'm not good enough to finish them how I want them to be finished.

I'm going to make them happen one day, after I have a few more books under my belt, but for now, I write other things to hone my skills.

And about that part where one of the students bowed to you, and you were offended by it, I think I understand. Honestly though, I feel its almost something of a defense mechanism. We see those who have accomplished more than we have and try to assign them some special trait or talent that we don't have, so we can insulate ourselves from feeling like a failure if we don't achieve at the same level. But to those who have achieved a lot, it's clear to them that there is no special trait, except maybe perseverance, and raw determination.

I want to be a writer as well, and I have much less talent than you. I want to see your efforts. I am going to follow you and check out your future posts. You will do well!

Good post brother....like

wow, really a great news!!! I wish you god luck, @shayne !
You started this post writing "Most of my life has been a series of failures in an upward trajectory. And I think that's pretty normal for most Americans.", but I have to say you that it's pretty normal also here in Italy ;)

Is it really like that? I wonder how things are across the world.

Yes, it's really like that. Many young people (and also not to young people) run away from Italy, becausehere there are just few opportunities, especially in the artistic fields, but also in other fields :(

It's really great that you have reached a place in your life that makes you excited to go on. The financial security should also help you concentrate on developing your talents and chasing after your potential as a human, an artist and a professional.

Keep it up and don't stop steeming in the meantime ;)

Thanks!

I really hope things turn out well. I can't handle living paycheck to paycheck my whole life.

I hope they do! :) If the paycheck is large enough, you don't need to live paycheck to paycheck even working a steady job actually. But what matters is what makes you happy and fulfilled.

That's great to hear @shayne!

It's inspiring. Thank you for sharing this part of your journey.

Hey, no problem. I'm glad you liked it. Hopefully when school is over I can post more often again.

Many congratulations on the offer of a position! Sounds like the CodeFellows course and your above-and-beyond efforts working through it will pay off in a major way.

I failed getting my Ghostie out of GhosTown Seattle. My score was 17000 but the ghostly floating head with red hair stopped me despite my old timey razor recovered from the vanquished hipster and the hammer that was left after the collapse of the skull-like enforcer ghost.

Taunting and attempting to evade didn't make the cut for me in GhosTown.

BTW when I was looking at the CodeFellows website I saw:

95% of our grads are hired within 180 days of graduation. Most land jobs in-field, while others opt to start their own companies, take part-time positions, or pursue careers outside of tech.

Points to you for earning opportunities long before the 180 day mark!

I just hope I get a real offer before it's too late! I really need a decent job, and this is an opportunity to have a real career for once in my life.

Congrats, man! Way to go! So happy to see our hard work finally paying off! That's such an awesome opportunity you were presented with. I just know that you'll take advantage of it to the fullest capacity :D

Well, it wasn't an actual job offer, just a semi-inside opportunity that I hope to capitalize on. Thanks! :D

Whatever it is, I hope you do capitalize on it and turn it into something valuable!
