Generic list of idea's I've had relating to hive or project crossovers with hive.
It's all the stuff I WANT to do but can't for one reason or another. mostly because I can't garner enough interest myself to really motivate me to tackle some of these, others issues are large gaps in knowledge required to handle some ideas, there is also my ongoing health issues that leave me with very little energy to actually do things in general.
Gridcoin bridge
Gridcoin is the second coin I ever got involved with, right after dogecoin. It centers around rewarding inflation use users who contribute to whitelisted research projects running on BOINC.
My contributions to gridcoin was fixing up the website to be mobile compatible as well as moving it to jekyll so it could run off github pages.
It has a special place in my heart but I've long since left the gridcoin scene, no longer really hold any gridcoin nor do research.
Mostly due to it being on pretty much no exchanges (that I know of) at this point and the cost of living crisis really made crunching those research projects too expensive to do from an energy cost standpoint.
Anyways.. Something I've always though of doing was making some kinda of bridge/liquidity pool between gridcoin and hive so It at leasts has somewhere to be traded. Either by making a token on hive-engine or employing smartcontracts on VSC when it hit's main net.
Major things stopping me from proceeding with the idea was lack on knowledge around bridges resulting in lots of research required on my part. It made me very quickly lose interest in it.
Some sort of gamified front end
This one really.. just.. it's a silly idea of making your staked hive (HP) be the actual HP of your character.
Delegations are like life reservations, reducing your max life.
Received delegations are like energy shield protecting your actual max HP.
Something about NFT equipment and an actualy game somehwere in there.
battle other users and that sorta thing with some kinda mechanic that makes it so whales can be defeated.. I had though those with massive HP pools would actually end up like raid bosses. haha. where like everyone who contributes to damage gets some kinda reward.
I never got very far with this it's more the Hivepower as HP thing that I wanted to mess with cause it seemed interesting.
Run a public API node
Used to do this but since the new setup method and honestly lack of need for more API nodes (it'd be a small one that wouldn't be able to serve much traffic imo) I kinda just put it to one side as a maybe if I actually needed my own node I'd spin one up.
Got the space and server for it just not really had the motivation to dig into the new setup method and get it working on my janky setup.
Run/integrate a bunch of the opensource hive tools, block explorer etc into my personal site
I have been wanting to integrate hive in general into my website but again motivation is lacking at this time.
I might get round to this one sooner rather than later as I do want to integrate my stream into my website as well.
In conclusion
There may be a time at some point.. I'll suddenly get hyper fixated on coding again and turn out a bunch of these ideas in a matter of months.
BUT right now I'm mostly focusing on my streaming when it comes to stuff on my computer, in day to day life it's trying to help my dad finish the kitchen reno (going on for 4-5 months now) and also generally stay alive and not over do things.
It really does feel like things are going so very very slowly but really my perception of time is busted anyways with sleeping for 14 hours a day and barely being able to function in general.
Still. There is still a future so still time to eventually do some of these.
