I am trying to build a lighting system in my room as i am interested in the topic "Smart Home". I am therefore using Philips Hue products an Android Smartphone and some NFC Tags.
Philips Hue products used:
Android Smartphone:
- Sony Xperia Z1 Compact
- Android 5.1.1
NFC Tags:
- NXP NTAGG213 22mm 144Byte (x20)
At first i tried to control the lights using the Hue App (found in the Playstore). It worked but it was kinda lame opening the app each time, waiting for it to connect and then go through the menu to set the lights. So i bought some NFC Tags and tried controlling the lights by putting my phone on the tag.
After playing a bit around in Tasker i finally decided on sending REST calls to the Hue API. This worked great and i had the ability to control the lights by just putting the phone on the right NFC-Tag. This is how my Setup in Tasker looked like:
After learning more about Tasker and all the available plugins i quickly set profiles to prepare my room for going to bed (dim the lights, set the alarm clock, shutdown my pc and deactivate Wi-Fi), waking me up (simulate a sunrise, play the radio) or simply turn on(off the lights).
I plan on expanding the setup using a motion detection sensor (Hue is going to sell one in a few weeks), some more lights and maybe some sensors like a temperature readout sensor.
If you want to see a How-To for setting up the lights, setting up Tasker to do specific things or in general regarding the Hue system just write a comment and i will make a new post/try to answer your questions.
can you post the whole picture for tasker or do you have the the profile available. I know this is from a year ago, but if you are still connected I would appreciate it.
