Sausage Sandwiches, Caramelized Grapefruit and a Full English Breakfast! - Brunch at the Wolseley in London

in #blog8 years ago

By now, you will know that we love brunch. For me, I think it is because I feel like it is a meal where I usually don’t feel like I am missing out by not eating any meat dishes. There’s so many great options that I never feel short of choice.

Rosie hit up London Town last weekend and I decided to take her to The Wolseley for brunch. The Wolseley is quite famous in London for its breakfast and I thought it would be a perfect start to a long and amazing shopping day.But before we get to the food, a little bit of fashion.

I wore my super easy and affordable sunnies from & Other Stories which are perfect to throw into you bag without having to worry if they will be or get destroyed without a case.

I wore it with my Zara top which is now on sale (I didn’t have the patience to wait long enough for the sales). I combined the top with my beloved Moschino belt and these Asos Espadrillles a white Blazer (similar) and a simple navy skater skirt (similar).I pulled it all together with a Micheal Kors watch and a Yves Saint Laurent ring.

These pictures below will clearly show that I love Rosie more than she loves me.Good thing I’m used to unrequited love!

By the way, if you like the little cheek highlighting going on in the picture below, this is my secret:Benefit Sugarbomb. Just dust a little on the cheekbones and *bam*, you are the love child of Kate Moss and James Franco… with the inherited cheekbones obviously.

Now, let’s get to the delicious part.

Oh the choices!

Naturally, we started with some coffee.

This lady enjoyed her cuppa. You can see the caffeine slowly working its magic in the eyes. Also, can we just take a minute to discuss how unfair genetics are? Rosie got these beautiful hazel eyes and I got stuck with a lump of brown mush as my”pathway into the soul”.

And, she’s awake! At the Wolseley, we may have slightly over ordered… So much so that a few dishes may have had to be put on the seat next to the table to accommodate it.But how could we resist this:My Eggs Florentine.

Rosie’s Eggs Benedict.

My caramelized grapefruit.

Rosie’s Cumberland Sausage Sandwich.

And finally our shared Full English.

Rosie started with the Full English and I’m quite sure I didn’t hear any complaints. The only thing she avoided was the Black Pudding, which is understandable I guess?

I munched on my eggs florentine, which is not something I normally order as I dislike runny eggs, but Rosie made me and oh booooy, am I glad she did.It was so delicious, creamy, buttery, smooth and decadent. Their Hollandaise sauce was to die for! How have I missed out on this slice heaven for so long?

In the background you can also see a glimpse of my caramelized grapefruit, which is what I tackled next.I love grapefruit in the morning as its fresh and tangy and a great way to kick off your metabolism. This baby was torched to crispy perfection and glazed to fruitful bliss.

Meanwhile Rosie was munching on her sausage sandwhich, which I, for your sake, decided not to post, as it may not have been a very flattering picture (we still love you Rosie!).We then quickly decided to order up another coffee. At this point, Rosie was not the only one feeling the caffeine, someone else got the giggles too.

Fully caffeinated and well fed, we seized the day for some retail therapy……and some more munchies later on in the evening. But we’ll share those stories with you a bit later.

Cheerio,

Juliana
