Hello, all! I'm so excited to start on this platform and learn my way around! My real life bestie @wholesomeroots recommended this site and can I just say I'm in awe of the talent collected here!
I'll try to make my intro short and sweet! Obviously, I'm a mom, a pagan, and I live in the south, but what does that mean and why should you care?! Well, for me, all these things are interrelated and influence my everyday life. When I first became a mother I knew that my life had to become more earth-based: organics, more outside time, and simply a stronger connection with mother earth. After we purchased our first home, we quickly began to struggle with the cost of renovating it as it was a foreclosure that had been severely neglected. I began a small backyard garden with absolutely no experience. I was, and still sort of am, in completely over my head but I'm gaining more experience every day. We also have a handful of backyard chickens and have recently delved into the world of meat rabbits! In fact, I just processed my third bun today! Living as waste free and organic as possible helps me feel closer to the Earth and the Gods I know and love. We aspire to keep our family in this tradition as it is very important to our values. We believe that hard work and personal sacrifice builds responsibility and character faster than any self-help book or 12 week course. Being a boy mom places these values at the utmost importance.
I also homeschool my 4-year-old son and am in college myself. I'm currently an English Major hoping to attain my Master's in Education. On top of all these things, I work from home as well by selling various crafts, woodworking projects that are collaborations with my fiance, and I'm an organic makeup and skin care advocate.
PHEW! I'm tired just reading all these things and need some more coffee! I hope to connect with some amazing people here on Steemit and if you have any advice for me, feel free!!

Hello southernpaganmom. When you get a spare minute (yea...I know...what spare minute) you might check into the rabbit breed Checker Giants. They are usually on the docile side. They are larger than most breeds and grow quickly. I helped a friend with his animals and usually had a freezer full of meat for the winter months. You will definately need a place to hang them for processing. I hope this suggestion helps. Oh...don't skimp on the coffee. With that kind of schedule you need the good stuff.
wow, great first post! One day at a time...great start and I see you changed your tags...always use 5 for most exposure. I agree a picture of you or your family or your homestead does add interest.. and remember do not get overwhelmed..:)
Love and peace,
Melissa
