In 2010 I was invited on and sail boat trip by my American friend Pete. We were to sail from San Francisco to Prince of Wales Island in Alaska. I had never been on a sail boat or sailing before so I jumped at the opportunity to have another adventure.
Well, I have never been so sea sick in my entire life. We hit a massive storm about 3 days into the trip off the Californian/Oregon coast and I spent 36 hrs laying in my bunk so we had to put into Portland where I decide to get off.
The waves were so high that the waves were a couple of stories high on either side of our little sail boat. It was a really surreal experience to be so little. You gotta give a lot of credit to those brave souls who go to sea for a living.
It is virtually impossible to relax enough do a crap in rough seas when you have your feet and hands bracing your self against the toilet wall and trying to hold onto the toilet seat with a clenched butt. Then I get an "are you ok in there" followed by a lot of bad language from me and then a lot snickering from the boat cabin. Bastards!!!!
It was a unique experience.
I eventually ended up in Alaska and stayed with my friend Pete for a few months.
I hope you like my post and Photo's.
cheers
Baz!

This baby sealion decided to pay us a visit on the second day and stayed over night until Pete kicked him/her off. He/she did a great job of climbing up on deck. We were not sure if he was being chased by a predator or just wanted a rest. Anyway, he/she was a welcome surprise.
Beautiful pictures and also love that little Sealion jumping aboard.
Thx. It was a great surprise and nice to have a wild animal so close and unafraid.
Me again with an idea for your articles :)
Most people don't like long texts without seeing a picture. You should not put all photos to the bottom of your posts. Put them between the text, so the reader has something to see and enjoy while he's walking through your text! Maybe even start your post with a picture... Nice photos by the way ;)
