On Tuesday while riding the bus home I witnessed the most despicable act a human being can do. The bus collector announced that he would be going stall by stall collecting the fare. I was standing in the middle of the bus because there was no booth at the time of entering and as the collector advanced I was backing up to go out the back door and when I was at the door I saw when a miserable guy took out a $100 bill to pay the fare which cost only 10bs, almost 1/4 of a dollar.
The collector gave him an epic look, that, even I, there were people who laughed at that gesture, to me the truth is that I did not, I thought it was disrespectful. People who go out to make a living and these idiots who pretend to be funny and go to steal, because there is no other word for it, you are stealing time and money, you are making fun of them in their face and on top of that they have the nerve to tell you to give them change in foreign currency.
I have seen people pay with one dollar bills and even five dollar bills, but I have never seen this despicable guy. And I am not surprised that more than one of them used it to avoid paying more fares. To put some context for foreigners, a dollar in Venezuela is more or less 36bs and 100$ would be equivalent to 3600bs, and a ticket costs 10bs, that is to say that the collector in any case would have to give change of 3590bs, taking into account that the largest bill is 100bs. Very unpleasant what this person did.

El martes mientras estaba en el bus de regreso a casa presencié el acto más despreciable que un ser humano pueda hacer. El recolector del bus avisó que pasaría puesto por puesto cobrando el pasaje. Yo iba de pie en el medio de la unidad porque no había puesto al momento de entrar y a medida que el recolector avanzaba yo iba retrocediendo para salir por la puerta trasera y al estar en la puerta veo cuando un miserable sujeto saca un billete de 100$ para pagar el pasaje que cuesta apenas 10bs, casi 1/4 de dólar.
El recolectar le pegó una mirada épica, que, hasta yo, hubo gente que le causó risa ese gesto, a mí la verdad es que no, me pareció una falta de respeto. Gente que sale a ganarse la vida y estos idiotas que se la dan de graciosos y que van es a robar, porque no tiene otra palabra, le estás robando tiempo y dinero, te estás burlando en su cara y encima tiene el tupé de decirle que le dé vuelto en divisas.
He visto que personas pagan con billetes de un dólar y hasta billetes de cinco dólares, pero este sujeto tan despreciable nunca lo había visto. Y no me extraña que más de uno lo usé para no pagar más pasaje. Para poner un poco de contexto para los extranjeros, un dólar en Venezuela es más o menos 36bs y 100$ serían equivalentes a 3600bs, y un pasaje cuesta 10bs, es decir que el recolector en dado caso tendría que darle vuelto de 3590bs, teniendo en cuenta que el billete más grande es de 100bs. Muy desagradable lo que esa persona hizo.
