The more interesting question is if "American inventor" is an oxymoron :).
Not acknowledging that there were none, but pretty much everything you got as technology is from China, Germany, Italy, Russia or the middle east.

Good point. Many of the "American Inventors" were just working within an established framework.
yeah, that was what I am trying to get at. It is not like there have never been any innovations in America, but a lot of the ground breaking stuff came from European inventors. Framework is a nice way to put it.
Thanks for not getting upset about my rather condescending comment :D
Life is too short to get upset. The only way you'll ever piss me off, is if you go out of your way to piss me off.
Very well said, good sir. To go back to your article, I get the same search results as you, even when browsing the 2nd page it shows mostly black people.
One of the few whites is Nikola Tesla, which I always credited as a European inventor, but I just read up that he moved to the States at the age of 28, so I guess I will give that one to you ;).
Using duckduckgo for search and click images, you end up with the same thing.
The only thing that makes Tesla an American is that he was robbed by JP Morgan and the Bush Crime Family. Dying penniless in a hotel room. All of his work, stolen.
The American way of life indeed
