This time of the year for me usually comprises of preparing the upcoming summer season on the west coast of Canada. Whale sightings increase and bears are waking up from their hibernation, which means it is time to head out into the wildness and start exploring. Furthermore, its the time for people to hit the beach for the summer sun.. kind of like these gentoo penguins are in the Falkland Islands/Malvinas.
However, for me this year it will be another opportunity to spend it with my family and friends here in Australia and attempt to tolerant the so-called winter here in Queensland. At least it gives me another 5-6 months to work on my beach body until my summer arrives next...

When you took that picture did you get close to those noble creatures? or did they just get scared and run away?
no, you are not allowed to approach within 5 metres to a penguin. However, most of the time if you are patient and just sit there and wait, they themselves will become curious and approach you. patience and understanding is always key with wildlife
It must be a wonderful experience!
