Are we all nobody’s?
In the sense that, if we were to have chosen a different life path we could have been someone completely different? And that our existence that we are living here is only one of an infinite amount of choices?
Do you ever catch yourself thinking that if you had made a single minuscule difference in a choice you've made how dramatically altered your life would be?
Okay, so you may be thinking
“You’re whack and you’ve definitely lost the plot”
But if you haven’t watched the film Mr. Nobody you should at least read the summation of it to get an idea of what I’m talking about here.
The opening scene itself was a profound image to watch unfold. The experiment that is shown to the viewer is the pigeon superstition experiment. In short, it is the idea that once the pigeon has been rewarded with food through an automatic feeder, whatever it was doing at the moment of receiving the food it will then repeat over and over again, believing that its action has something to do with it receiving the food.
As humans, we tend to adopt this belief quite inherently, and perhaps the whole idea of karma is based on this premise. But does this discredit us as human beings? Is there a power higher than us which is responsible for the outcomes of our day to day life?
Or are we simply enacting this “pigeon superstition” on a larger scale?
This film goes further into exploring numerous other ideas in relation to existence, time, choice, reality and life before life.
All in all, it is a movie that opens the mind to an array of possibilities in which the nature of reality can exist.
Enjoy the ride!
