Hello everyone!
Hope all of you are doing great, so in this post I want to talk to all of you about this amazing race that I sign up for last year, its called the Spartan Race.
Let me tell you a little bit about it, so Joe De Sena,world-class adventure racer, created this race on the green mountains of Vermont, it has different levels of obstacles and miles range suitable for most athlete levels.
The first 3 levels are the Sprint, Super and Beast, after you complete all these three races and you get your medals you are allowed todo the next one “The Trifecta” this is only available for people who have complete these first three races within a calendar year.
Most people start with the Sprint which is basically a 3 to5 mile race with 20 to 23 obstacles, and it goes on to other levels, the hardest one being the Dead Race which consist of a 70 hour race, crazy right! Not doing that any time soon, or who knows, never say never right.
So these races are meant to test your body and mind to the limit, and push you as hard as they can, it’s a matter of will I or will I not, and to be honest these are not easy let me tell you that, It is a test of fitness, will, and strength. Obstacles consist from climbing rope, walls, to monkey bars, caring buckets full of rocks and so many other crazy obstacles, and the best part is when you fail to complete an obstacle you are punish with 30 burpees, oh yeah, every time you don’t complete an obstacle you have to goon the ground and complete those burpees (worst exercise ever). But let me tell you something, when you cross that finish line and they put that medal on your neck, oh my god it is so worth it, all that hard work and hours that you put into that makes everything count and there’s nothing like it, you also get a finisher shirt, a banana and an ice cold beer at the finish line which will be the best beer of your life but that’s another story ha!
One of the benefits of this race is that they do them all over the world, so wherever you are you will always be able to sign for one or even travel to another country to do one. Spartan Race started growing to fast that they just started to take the races every where giving people around the world the chance to complete one, and the chance to be part of this amazing community.
So I sign up with some people for The Super first, this one consist of 8 to 10 miles and 24 to 29 obstacles, that was my first Spartan Race ever, it took me 4 hours to finish it, and it was the best experience of my life, I got so hooked that I wanted to do another one right away, so I sign up for The Sprint and completed it! But ill tell you more about that race experience is another post.
So guys if you ever want to test your mind and body, if you ever want to see how far you can take your body and how much you can push yourself sign up for one of this races, its not piece of cake, I saw people crying, getting badly hurt, giving up, but I even saw people on wheelchairs, crutches, injured veterans, people with bad disabilities doing this and for me it was so amazing, it is so incredible seeing how far your body can go and what you can accomplish in just a few hours, there are no excuses, Trust me! This was one of the best experiences of my life and I would do it all over again!
XOXO
