Look through the photos I found ones from the interesting festival. I want to tell you about it today. This festival is called Leopolis Jazz Fest. It is international jazz festival, which is held annually in June in Lviv since 2011. The festival is organized with the support of partners Alfa Jazz Fest is on the list of the largest jazz festivals in Europe. The Guardian has included Alfa Jazz Fest in the list of the best European festivals.
The title sponsor of the festival until 2018 was "Alfa-Bank Ukraine", in connection with which the festival was named Alfa Jazz Fest. In 2017, it was decided to rename the festival to Leopolis Jazz Fest, indicating the venue for its holding (Leopolis is one of the oldest names of Lviv).
The festival traditionally takes place on three stages:
The main stage of the festival in the park named B. Khmelnitsky - Eddy Rosner Scene (ticket required).
The scene on the central square of Lviv - Rynok Square (free entrance).
The scene in the historic part of the city - the courtyard of the Potocki Palace (entrance free).
In addition to concerts of jazz musicians from around the world, during the festival, there are jam sessions, master classes and autograph sessions of world jazz stars.
An annual awards ceremony, «Leopolis Jazz Music Awards» dedicated to Eddie Rosner («Alfa Jazz Music Awards» till 2017) is held during the gala concert of the festival in Lviv. These awards are established to honor the artists who have made a significant contribution to the development of jazz music. The winner is selected by a wide range of experts, including music critics, prominent culture persons, public and government officials, journalists and entrepreneurs from different countries.
I try not to miss a single year of this festival. Here you can come and enjoy the beautiful quality music sitting on the lawn, drinking wine or anything else, and just relax.
Among the headliners of Alfa Jazz Fest 2017: Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band - multiple nominee and holder of the Grammy Award, as well as nominee for 2016; Concha Buika - Spanish singer and composer, multiple nominee Grammy, holder of two Latin Grammys Awards, 2017 nominated for Latin Grammys Awards 2016; Yellowjackets - one of the best in jazz in the world of electric jazz groups, holders of five nominations and two Grammy awards; and many other no less well-known performers.
So if you have not been to this festival yet, I strongly advise you to visit it this year. Here you can enjoy beautiful music, taste delicious food and just get great pleasure from the time spent.
