Hello everyone is back, again with Zul Aqli, thank you for wanting to click on this article and happy reading.
At this time I will discuss more deeply about the VGA CARD. Why does it have to be a VGA CARD? because according to me personally VGA CARD is a topic of conversation that is quite interesting, and also the VGA CARD has an important role in the process of running the Gaming, Rendering, or Mining.
VGA CARD FUNCTION
For those who don't know the function of the VGA Card is a component that renders the image, whether it's 3D or 2D images. The result of the rendered image will be displayed through the monitor screen or display output.
When you want to buy a VGA Card, have you ever been confused about GPU, VRAM, CORE CLOCK, GDDR5 and GDDR5X, BOOST CLOCK, and many more. Here I will discuss everything one by one.
GPU
GPU stands for (GRAPHIC PROCESSING UNIT), which is a special chip that has been embedded in the VGA CARD. The role of this chip is almost the same as the processor. But the difference is this chip is the brain of the VGA CARD. The higher the specifications of the GPU, the faster the VGA Card you use. Generally you will not be able to see the physicality of this GPU because it is protected by COOLER.
VRAM
This VRAM actually functions almost similar to RAM. The difference is that the chip is planted on the VGA card. The task of this VRAM is only to hold image, texture and pixel data. The role of VRAM is very important in terms of resolution. Because the greater the resolution in the game, the data, pixels, texture will be even greater. VRAM currently used is 2 GB or 4 GB.
CORE CLOCK
Sometimes there are still many who are confused, What is a Core Clock? Core Clock is the frequency speed run by the GPU in HZ or MHZ Units. The higher the speed, the faster the data transfer will be.
BOOST CLOCK
BOOST CLOCK is actually the same task as CORE CLOCK. Generally BOOST CLOCK will appear automatically, according to the Step Load on a GPU that you are using. But unfortunately BOOST CLOCK also has a limit, if CLOCK SPEED gets higher, then the GPU you use will feel hot, and the heat is called THERMAL THROTTLING. The signs of its appearance are that the BOOST CLOCK speed will decrease, and it will automatically decrease according to the GPU temperature. that's the reason why you have to choose a VGA card that has a good cooling system, so that the VGA card temperature remains stable.
CLOCK MEMORY
This MEMORY CLOCK is almost similar to CORE CLOCK. The difference is MEMORY CLOCK is CLOCK SPEED which is located in VRAM with HZ or MHZ units.
BUS BIT and BANDWITH
If BANDWITH is like the internet speed that we usually use, namely how fast, the speed of data entering or exiting. while if BIT BUS is how much BIT can enter and exit through VRAM. At BUSBIT you will also find the names 64 BIT, 128 BIT, 256 BIT, and so on.
GDDR5 and GDDR5X
Each type of Memory has different capabilities, for example GDDR5 and GDDR5X memory types. GDDR5 and GDDR5X also have differences. the difference is that GDDR5X has a CORE CLOCK MEMORY that is much faster than GDDR5.
CUDA
CUDA stands for (COMPUTE UNIFIED DEVICE ARCHITECTURE) is an architecture created by NVIDIA. You can activate the CUDA feature on the condition that the GPU has PHYSICAL CORES from NVIDA. While PHYSICAL CORES made by AMD which is called STREAM PROCESSOR, and uses the OPEN CL programming language. Both NVIDIA or AMD each have very different technologies.
VGA REFERANCE and NO REFERANCE
Maybe this sounds familiar to most people. VGA REFERANCE is the initial form of the VGA CARD, before being modified by several vendors such as MSI, ASUS, GIGABYTE, ZOTAC, BIOSTAR, and many more. The known VGA CARD is AMD RADEON and NVIDIA GEFORCE. But the unique thing is NVIDIA gave the name VGA REFERANCE as FOUNDER EDITION, which actually was just the same, it made no difference. After REFERANCE, the name will appear as VGA NON REFERANCE, this type of VGA has been modified by several vendors that I mentioned earlier. Even though the custom GPU used is the same as the original, from NVIDIA GEFORCE or AMD RADEON. But not only that which is Custom, most of the Vendors start modifying starting from COOLER, OUTPUT DISPLAY, TDP, CLOCK SPEED, and many more.
TDP
TDP is short for THERMAL DESIGN POWER. TDP is a measure of how many watts this VGA CARD consumes power. But actually this is not our reference to measure how much power consumption of a VGA CARD. As I said earlier, the technology of AMD RADEON or NVIDIA GEFORCE fabrication is very different.
Okay, here you know, so you can get a guarantee that you certainly can't compare that where NVIDIA GEFORCE and AMD RADEON are, because each of them has a very different technology. Unless you compare it with 1 Brand, for example, the Radeon RX 460 with RX 470, where? yes it is clear the RX 470. Or if you still want to compare the two camps, for example the GTX 1050 TI and RX 560 for now? It's easy, you just have to see a review of YouTube or a benchmark test from both VGA, whether it fits your expectations or not.
Okay, maybe this is the first time, the information that I can convey today, don't forget to share if it's useful for you all, finally my name is Giery, see you in a different article.
thank you
