The last time I was blogging for crypto (that sounds a bit like a game with apples) I had a hard time producing content while commuting long distance to work, and found myself pursuing other endeavors. It's been about a year. Has anything happened in this sphere recently? It sure looks it!
For starters, I'm happy to be among the right-minded folks who migrated to Hive. I see an eager, active, creative, and robust community that just wasn't there before. Also, it looks like some of the criticisms I had about Steemit are finally being addressed. (You can read about it here.)
Another thing that has changed is that I'm working from home for the foreseeable future, so no more commute! Naturally some of that time is taken up with remote work, but I'm no longer walking, or taking trains and bicyles that make it impossible to do anything else. Even though I was able to sneak in some photographs along the way.
Here's one to get us started, from our garden. Wouldn't want to bore you with too much chat!
Can you believe this space used to be a driveway and some dead grass? With a little hard work, time, and planning, even a drab and boring space can come alive. This is what I'm hoping to do with my Hive blog. I hope you join me!
I no longer care about putting any quality content on other social media platforms. No more free content so they can make money off of me. Hive is the future of social media, or at least it should be, so that's why I am here. On my page you will find unique, original content that you won't see elsewhere.
I am hyperactive. I have energy, and I'm into everything! If it's a thing you can do, I want to know how to do it. Here is a quick list of all the things I explore to give you an idea of what you may encounter by following me:
Art— drawing, painting, photography, framing, printing
Homesteading— gardening, propogating, harvesting, preserving
Writing— blogging, fiction, poetry
History— genealogy, old photos, old buildings
Houseplants— lighting, watering, cachepots
Home Renovation— planning, construction, finish work
Fiber Arts— macrame, needlepoint, sewing
Did I say quick? Nothing I do is quick. I have the opposite of ADD. I have hyper-focus disorder. Other people find careers in their passion. I have too many passions for that. I might get into something for a month and see how far it gets me. If I don't enjoy it, or succeed to the level I want to, or even if I do it for so long as it takes to get the end product I need for my house, I may never do it again. Or, I may drop it for now and do it again a year or more later, and really do it well.
One thing I don't fall for is the trap that you don't do something if you can't make money off of it. I profit off of things I do all the time, but monetary gain isn't the same as profit. Learning how to do something and being able to do it again for yourself or others is profit. Having the end product is profit. Having the knowledge that you created something beautiful or just useful, is profit. But, if you want to upvote my posts, then I can make money too, which is always nice.
You can browse through my past posts from the pre-fork era for a sampling of what I'm into, but know that there are only better things to come!

We had a cloudy weekend, but I finally got the tour up!
