Sport is life.

I don't understand the people who don't enjoy sports. I can watch almost any sport if i have the time and really get into it regardless of who is playing and what level it is at.

At the moment I'm watching Champions league ARS v Real. I watched a game last night and Man United are on tomorrow.

Luckily my GF is busy this week or I wouldn't be getting away with this much.

The Hurling championships starts on Saturday with my team playing on Sunday. Another two games that need to be seen.

The masters.

I play a little golf and always watch the masters but this years was as good as it gets. It had absolutely everything in terms of drama and quality.

Did you hear the lady in Canada who rang in to complain about her husband? It went a little like this.

Wife:

I walked in on my husband yesterday and I got so mad at him.
When we got married I wore a beautiful dress and stood in front of him with all of our friends and family.
Did he even shed a tear??? No, not a drop.
My father gave the most beautiful speech at the wedding and he is not the beautiful speech kind of person. Not a tear in sight.
Then i walk in to see him crying over this golf game with the guy who won it. whatever his name is and he was crying as he won the golf tournament.

Radio Host:

But to be fair it is THE golf tournament and it was a big moment. He won after a lot of hardship.

Wife:

I know that. He explained all of that to me but it means nothing.
I've never been so mad at him in my life.

It's funny what sport can do to us.
I know that when my team won the championship we were all crying in the stands. I don't even cry at funerals.

Somebody described sports as the most important, unimportant part of life.

They were right.
It plays such a huge part of our lives and we invest so much into it over the years and decades but in the grand scheme of things it means nothing who gets a ball into a net or who gets handed a trophy.

And yet, it does.
It matters a great deal to the majority of us. It's a matter of pride, excitement, disappointment, anger, happiness and everything in between.

I get more excited over a match on the tv than i will over my kids stories or activities. It just has that hold over us.

That's why I can't understand the people that don't enjoy it or any type of it.
