A general rant

in #blogs7 years ago

So I've been working on my new living space. A 2006 Ford e250 (if you hate or love Ford I don't care. Seriously its like the console wars of the 90's sometimes. Both Sega and Super Nintendo were great systems!) which requires a fair bit of welding (something I have very little experience doing) and a lot of rust removal.

It has also been 90+ degrees here (Fahrenheit) with recockulous humidity. Which means the air cooled angle grinder gets too hot after five minutes of use and takes about an hour to cool off. For every five hours I spend working, I get maybe an hour's worth of progress done. It's infuriating.

To top it off coffee is largely unavailable. I live off of that stuff. Between the heat, the lack of shade, and the humidity I've been having a hard time keeping my thoughts straight and my focus up.

I was going to start posting about the process of fixing it up after it was livable, but it's going to rain tomorrow. So instead I'll start making my #steemitvan posts tomorrow. Even with the work I'm doing, it needs parts I can't afford. So I'll be funding the parts entirely through Steem. Wish me luck people.

No rain today, so posting of the #steemitvan is delayed in lieu of working on the van.

The angle grinder died after a particularly robust knotted wire brushing. I think it's the carbon brushes. I'll do some welding today and mess around with the angle grinder when I'm not spending daylight.

I wish you luck on your experience in living in your van! When I was in washington this last week I ran into a group of young adults living in a car (4 people) and they had been traveling together for a couple of years! It was amazing and I've thought so many times just dropping everything and driving away!

And soon I shall be able to do exactly that.
Gotta Earn 5k First though.

I have a Ford Transit best car :)

What I think you are doing is a great idea... Following and upvoted...good luck my friend

Thanks man. I always like seeing my follower count go up. Even more than my SP:)

Good luck on your project. I lived in an old ford motor home- rv for two years. I enjoyed the experience but damn near froze to death here in Canada. Will follow to see the progress.

Freezing won't be an issue here. Dying of heat stroke might be though. Phoenix was hotter, but this area is a paved over swamp.

That is good thing. Enjoy your journey. I know mine was a great experience, tough but very enlightening.

Thank you for your support. 👍Upvoted. 😊
