Benchmark indices extended losses in the afternoon trade on Friday with BSE Sensex losing over 300 points to plunge below 31,300 mark. It was trading at 31,207.39, down 1.03 per cent at around 2 pm.
Meanwhile, the 50-share pack was trading at 9,717.10, down 103 points or 1.05 per cent at around the same time.
All sectoral indices turned red with Nifty PSU Bank plunging the most, down 3.30 per cent. It was followed by Nifty Metal
which was trading 2.30 per cent lower at 3,252.10.
As for today's earnings, SBI reported a 20.44 per cent fall in net profit at Rs 2,005.53 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2017. Reacting to the development, the stock fell 4.05 per cent to Rs 280.80 on BSE.
