I posted this question once when I was new here about a year ago when I had maybe 4 followers. Needless to say, I got no responses. The atmosphere is a bit different now, and I'll bet at least one person will answer. ;-)
What is something you admit - perhaps embarrassingly - that you don't know how to do, but should absolutely know by now?
I've met full-grown people who don't know how to do some of the following:
- Swim
- Change a tire
- Get their taxes done on their own
- Use a computer
- Balance a checkbook
- Jump a car battery
- Laundry
It's almost inexcusable, right?
Well, I'm certainly not one to talk because I've got one, too. For me, I can't cook if my life depended on it. Of all the adulty things I do, that is unfortunately not one of those things. If it wasn't for my better half, @jazzyfish, I'd starve.
Okay, so I'm not completely helpless, but if it doesn't come in a box or if it requires more than the microwave in most cases, I'm calling Domino's.
So let's see what you've got!
Reply in the comments below and let's make fun of each other!
I cannot dunk =(
For me it's art. I took several art classes my last quarter in college. I needed to fill some electives. Not only did I find out I was really bad at it, I found out that it was way harder than I though. Literally one of my worst grades in college was a drawing class.
That's me to a T. Artistic people fascinate me!
To the thread creator, awesome post, you've been #FURR'd. =)
Me too... i see persons drawing by hand beautiful sketches and drawings, creating paintings, and all i can do are the same draws as when i was 5 years old.... :(
What's interesting about your comment is that I back when I used to want to be able to draw by hand, I did a lot of studying on it to try and learn techniques (I failed miserably at this, so it didn't last long). During that time one of the things I learned is that if you don't practice it constantly, you never get better than when you last did it. So if you haven't concentrated on improving your drawing abilities since the age of 5, then at the age of 35 you'll have the same skill level.
and at 50 even worst.... !!! :D :D :D :D :D
I don't know deposit on a ATM. Its easy to just follow the steps but my anxiety and paranoid for typing one number wrong makes me recheck 1000 times every step that I end up screwing the operation. Im the kind of person who always ask for a hand to the guy working in the security next to the door. lol.
I've never deposited using an ATM. I don't trust it. LOL
I feel like I need another set of hands - preferably a set employed by my bank, lol - handling my money and then handing me a receipt so I can place blame on someone else if there's a problem. :D
Considering I write (and have written content as an actual job), I surprisingly do not know English grammar outside of the bare minimum of noun, verb and adjective.
Conjunction, Predicate, Superlative, etc.....no idea.
I'll let you in on a little secret: most of the rest of us don't either. I couldn't tell you what the hell a past perfect tense is supposed to be. I know quite a bit about grammar because English was my second language growing up, but verb tenses? Articles? Subjunctives? Yeah, no idea at all. If it sounds about right, I'm going with it.
Exactly, years of experience reading proper content from other people has helped me develop proper grammar within my writing, but don't ask me to explain it. lol
To build Robotics, as much as I love it and love the idea of it for some reason I never really got to learning it and doing it for myself. Perhaps a goal for years end and into 2018?
How to have and use crypto currencies. One of the reasons why I'm here. If I get enough Steem I'll have to learn :p
;-)
roll a joint!
lol...
use steemit...
namaste!
I know exactly what you mean! I've always used a pipe.
Even those stupid cigarette rollers didn't work for me...
Electrical engineering. I'm not talking about really complex stuff, but if a light switch goes out in my house, I have almost no idea what to do. I know just enough to seriously injure or kill myself.
I have no idea how to properly fold clothes and pack stuff in a suitcase :D
roll them in small batches and stack in suitcase. You will get more spaces as well. Try it.
I dont really know how to flatiron my shirts! LOL! Tried using flatiron once, then i ended up burning my shirt. And i was so frustrated because that was the only green shirt i have, and we have to use green that day. LOL! Damn that flatiron! :D
fact is I am not very good at saying "I am sorr...." see I can't say it. I know that it fixes things, but I just can't say it for some reason.
If you look real close at my profile picture you can see me winking...
How to change a damned vehicle tire. Been driving for years, can change my own oil, filter, and plugs. Ask me to change tires, and I will call Les Schwab, lol
I'm a lady, I'll show you how to change. Tire 😂
I can't fold a fitted sheet. Anybody else out there? ;) I know I'm not the only one. Haha, nice conversation-starter @winstonwolfe!

Haaaaaaa!!!! Absolutely perfect 😆
I've never sent a text in my life. Can't type worth a crap, can't go in a chat room cause the cotton picking item I'm answering to is gone out of sight before I get three words done. Can't use one of the new phones, mines an old beam me up Scotty flip type, computers scare the ......out of me. The seven thousand digit secret code Steemit gave me took me three hours to get it right, near had a nervous breakdown. Hell even my Bic stick has to have spell check on it. Won't go to self check out for fear of making a mistake and getting arrested. Was on Facebook once, asked me if my son could be my friend, havn't been on it since, that was ten yrs ago. All this crypto stuff baffles me.
What was the question again?................ billytwohearts

I don't know how to use the chainsaw.
Lol that sounds like a good thing.
I agree. Stay away from trouble.
Well, let's see...I can't bake, I can't knit, I can't sew...
I've had a nice guitar for 11 years and I still can't play it for shit...
well, if you ever learn to play, you have the makings of a song right there :-)
It would make a good country song, wouldn't it? Just add in something about getting cheated on and the dog running away, and it might work.
:-)
Lol yup and you'd have a great hit song :-)
You know I was thinking about that off and on for the rest of the evening...
:-)
Well that is good then, yes? Lol, my coworkers hate when I get songs stuck in their heads.
Well, I got half the song written, even have a basic chord structure. :-)
It didn't turn out quite the way I thought it might, but I think that might be a good thing.
I can't ride a bike either
I have only ever used a crock pot to make cannabis infused coconut oil (have a post about it). Never used it to cook real food lol. I will need to do that soon
I can't do my own taxes.
I do not know how when people are having deep discussions about crypto currency and Bitcoin I want to join in but I'm just learning about it so I don't understand half of what I read or understand the little figures and list of numbers.
Braiding a hair was never learnt. Sure wish I had learnt it. My daughter's hair was always in hair bubbles/ clips as that was the only way I could get her hair done. Sigh.

This is a very common one for people, but I have no idea how to read sheet music. I did study it at college, but it never really clicked with me.
I cant whistle!! LOL
