RE: This redneck's standing on tattoos

in #body5 months ago

My youngest desperately wanted a tattoo for her 16th birthday. She had chosen a beautiful design that loosely represented her sister, so I allowed it, even took her to the neighboring state where tattoos are allowed on under 18's. Got a tiny one of my own, my first and only, that tied into hers. I reget that somewhat, but not enough to remove it.

Now, nearing 30, she's going a bit berserk on these tattoos. She pays top dollar for them, can't seem to stop. They all have significance to her regarding people she loves, so at least there is that, and most of them are beautiful and easy to cover up. But in her case, I think it is an illness really, all that pain. Plus, I'm opposed to injecting anything under the skin; that cannot be good for your health! I have counseled her to stop and she hasn't gotten one in a few months. She's not weird at all. At least I don't find her to be so. Some of us don't know what our adult offspring are really like though. Maybe I am one of those.

well I never really know what to say in these situation because it is never my intention to tell anyone that one side is right and one side is wrong but from what I have seen the tatts become an addiction to many people that get involved. Yes, they are also really expensive and no judgement here, but the people I see that are getting the most tatts and the most expensive ones are often times the people I know that never have any money.

They just aren't for me. I hope your daughter doesn't have them in places like on her face. I don't think that looks good for anyone.
