Salman Khan (Sallu & Bhai)
Actor, Producer & Television Host
Born on 27th December, 1965
The muscular and sculpted, the Bad Boy, the Sultan of the film industry, Salman Khan was born on 27th December, 1965. On this date, the streets of Indore were a silent witness to a future star being born and that star is none other than Salman Khan. Having Salim Khan as his father, he never used his stature and influence to get into the film industry. He gave auditions, struggled and slowly with his efforts and perseverance bagged a supporting role in the movie 'Biwi Ho To Aisi' in the year 1988. In the following year, he was seen in a romantic drama 'Maine Pyar Kiya' as a lead actor and from there on was the rise of a young star.
Salman Khan kept on giving some lovely performances year after year with hits like 'Saajan', 'Andaz Apna Apna', 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!', 'Karan Arjun', 'Khamoshi', 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hain' and 'Biwi No.1' from 1991 till 1999. The way he kept on molding himself from one character to another in each of his films made him rise on the popularity charts among the masses. Of course, there were few flops too during this period but, each time he came back with a stupendous and a lively performance that kept his producers' and directors' faith alive in his acting abilities.
In the decade from 2000 till 2010, Salman Khan had his worst years personally as well as professionally, as he was involved in many controversies. The controversies of killing protected animals, illegal possession of arms, being involved in a hit and run case and his break up with his then girlfriend, Aishwarya Rai, completely overshadowed his film career and the movies that he did during that period.
However, he redeemed his career with a hit film 'Wanted' in 2009 and followed it with hits after hits, year after year and then, there was no looking back for the bad boy of the film industry. Along with that, he also launched 'Being Human Foundation', a non profitable charitable organization that aids in the welfare of the underprivileged in the areas of education and healthcare. Thus, he resurrected his career and brand image as well and shed away his bad boy image forever.
Also, the biggest 'mass hero', Salman Khan is the fourth Bollywood celebrity to have his wax statue at the famous Madame Tussauds museum in London. Currently, he is one of the biggest superstar, who is renowned not only in India but world over, with lots of expectations riding on him from all his upcoming movies.
