The Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju released a while back. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film which is said to be a biopic of actor Sanjay Dutt opened on a thunderous note. Being one of the most keenly anticipated releases of the year, Sanju has been raking in the moolah since its release.
In this box office report, we take a look at the second weekend collections of Sanju while comparing the same to previous releases. Collecting Rs. 62.97 cr on its second weekend, the film has managed to surpass the collections of the Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan to emerge as the third all-time highest second weekend grosser. Though the business of Sanju on its second weekend does not manage to surpass the collections of earlier releases like Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion that collected Rs. 80.75 cr and Dangal that had collected Rs. 73.70 cr, Sanju does out beat other releases like The Jungle Book that collected Rs. 54.40 cr, PK that collected Rs. 53.49 cr, Tiger Zinda Hai that collected Rs. 48.71 cr, and Padmaavat that collected Rs. 46 cr.
Currently still running to packed houses across the country and with no competition coming in from new releases, Sanju is expected to continue its stellar run at the box office in its second week as well. In fact predictions state that the film which has till now collected a staggering Rs. 265.48 cr is more than likely to near the Rs. 300 cr mark by the end of the week.
