Awakening
“ A blog, you should write a blog…” my wife who is now separated from me said.
Now of course I’d heard the term blog but to me, it had always been something that stay at home mums or budding health & fitness entrepreneurs would do, not a 32 year old man, who was back living at his parents house and didn’t even own a computer any more.
After loosely thinking about it for a couple of weeks, today, I all of a sudden found myself, sitting in my car at 6.10am on a Sunday morning feeling the uncontrollable urge to write how it was I got here. Sad, alone and scared of what’s to be my future. Battling with my new reality. These emotions I can’t remember feeling for years. What has caused these feelings to surface after so many years…..?? Was it the terror attack I was a victim of in 2002, was it from the resulting PTSD symptoms I was “meant” to be suffering or was it the meth addiction I had managed to pick up along the way….??
It’s in this moment right now, 13 years on, that I am only now asking, What has been the true cost of terror on my life? Is it even the instigator for me reaching this new low? Am I just looking for an excuse? I mean, it’s hard to even acknowledge I may have some issues when I came home from the awful event, relatively unscathed, unlike 202 other individuals who did not, so what am I whinging about? Steemit & social media I hope can be the vessel that helps me explore deep into my heart and my head in what I like to think as my awakening.
