Such people are likely to be more prone to the stress and anxiety that accompany self-centeredness. Stress and anxiety are bad for the heart.
Pg 48 "When pursuing our own self-interest we should be "wise selfish" and not "foolish selfish". Foolish selfish is pursuing our own interests in a narrow, shortsighted way. Wise selfish means taking a broader view and recognizing that our own long-term individual interest lies in the welfare of everyone.
