Frankly, I was frustrated.
I wanted to buy certain books, video and courses but had a hard time figuring out whether they were right for me. Lot of stuff for sale out there but very few reviews of them. And then, there were also very generic reviews that didn't really go in deep about the actual content and whether it was a good fit for my needs.
I found that my favourite jazz books often became out of print and expensive - usually because not a lot of people bought the books. I felt that it wasn't just because they were niche books but also because not enough people talked about them.
So instead of complaining about the lack of reviews, I finally took action myself. I started writing reviews of the books, videos and courses that I felt the world needed to know about. If you googled about one of these epic books or courses I liked (even the self published ones, ESPECIALLY the self published ones) you could at least find a geeky review that I wrote.
I'm not trying to sell these to everyone. I just want the RIGHT PEOPLE to find these. Too many times I've bought books and thought, meh - this is good but not for me.
I want to help people learn and writing reviews is my new thing.
