For those of you that don't know Kat Timpf, she is a major contributor on the Greg Gutfeld show. Yes, I am talking about Fox News. In her latest book, she tells everyone how she gets a lot of shit for being on that network. Many people tend to put people in boxes even if they truly don't know the person. I have had this happen to me on facebook when I made a comment about my belief on the current state of our nation. Some loonies believe that you shouldn't have an opinion because you should believe everything that mass media is telling you.
When I was growing up many moons ago, it was looked upon favorably if you questioned things. How else does one learn? One of the reasons that intrigues me about Timpf is the fact that she is a Libertarian. I have been investigating this party for myself on and off for many years now. However, she describes herself as a Libertarian with a small "l."
If you watch news programs on any channel, you get the impression that there only are two options: Republican and Democrat. If you keep watching, you then realize that each of these two parties don't get along even when they pretend to agree. Timpf proposes, and I believe she is right, that great things can be accomplished by having civilized conversations. The most dominant campaign talk I hear from the Democrats is that we can't let Trump win. I also find it strange that Harris has adopted some of Trump's policies in her attempt to become President.
The title of Timpf's latest book is perfect for her message: "I Used To Like You Until..." Realizing that "politics" is one of those topics that is taboo at the dinner table, maybe talking about the issues may bring some people closer together. If you are interested in the topic, Timpf's book gives you a humorous look into some solutions. However, the book isn't only about politics. Some of the other issues she covers include religion, children, mental health issues and drag queens. Timpf has a great way of letting you peek into her past and current life and walking away as if you've known her for a long time!
