Last weekend, the Cuneo Brothers hosted their third installment of an iHeartHorror Day event and each one keeps getting bigger and more exciting. One of the things I love about the event is that I always run into people that I haven't seen in a long time. Seeing Colie Brice perform was a definite plus and a reminder of my days writing for FRED's Papers and publishing The Rag. Josh Zuckerman got me excited about the possibility of putting together another China White reunion. Reg, whom I first met at Vintage Vinyl in Ocean, New Jersey, many moons ago was there selling many collectibles. Her and her husband have been in numerous bands that packed the clubs along the Jersey Shore. Lisa and Laura, who were working in the kitchen, look the same as they did back when they would come to the China White shows at places like Club Bené in Sayreville, New Jersey. I could go on and on but I will be blogging more about this wonderful event in the near future.
It was nice to hear that Lisa Hodorovych is planning a new book release soon. She has been pretty busy promoting her last two books, "The Disappearance" and "He's Here!," at numerous events around the area and then some. You can actually read my reviews on each one by scrolling down to last year's blogs. I picked up a copy of each book at the last iHeartHorror Day event.
Hodorovych is a humble author who comes across as a genuine person that I would love to do an in-depth interview with. Her last book, "He's Here!," left me wanting more from the characters in her tale. She writes from the perspective of her main character, Ashlynn Amuso. Hodorovych has a way of making you feel like you know the characters as if they were part of your family. Although, there are some family members of mine I don't think I know as well! If you haven't read either of these books yet, read "The Disappearance" first. Either way, you can check out her releases by looking up her facebook page (@LisaHodorovych).
