The long wait is finally over!
"Everybody acts out a myth, but very few people know what their myth is. And you should know what your myth is because it might be a tragedy and maybe you dont want it to be." -Jordan Peterson
Greetings fellow Steemians!
I thought I'd make a quick post and share something I've been waiting for a long time to come out. I'm so happy and ready to dive into this!
As I've probably mentioned before, I am a HUGE Jordan Peterson fan. I would say that I've read a lot of philosophy myself (nothing compared to him obviously), but nothing I have came across has been more clearly articulated than his works. His lectures have perpetually shattered my reality and has brought me to tears over and over again.
I have to admit that even as of lately I have been listening to his "Maps of Meaning" lectures over and over and over again. So much that I just had to download them all! I don't want to come off sounding cynical or paranoid, but in the current state of the world, you never know if or when that we might not have access to this kind of stuff anymore you know?
So in conclusion, I thought I'd let everyone know that I'm going to dive right into this and to the best of my abilities will be writing up a book review on Steemit in the near future!
Thanks for reading Everyone!

Rule No. 1: Clean your room?
Well to be fair, in the book it's "Stand up Straight With Your Shoulders Back" but yes that it still of an incalculable value.
I cleaned my room again yesterday...and it felt awesome!
Oh man, I've been really wanting to read this! Thanks for reminding me. His episode on the Jocko Podcast made a big impression.
You're quite welcome! I've absolutely loved them all. Have you listened to the Joe Rogan podcasts yet? Those were intense!
Yes I did! They were also excellent. It seems like a bunch of my favorite podcasts have a lot of overlap :). Looking forward to your book review on this
Looking forward to your review. Do you have an example of one of those myths you are talking about?
Thank you! I highly recommend his Maps of Meaning lectures off of Youtube. That's a great place to start.
There is amazing irony in the mainstream media simultaneously making up a story about Jordan Peterson supporters being violent as they willfully ignore violence from ANTIFA at "A Night for Freedom".
In a way, that's not really surprising to me. It appears that humanity will do whatever it takes to actively and purposefully misunderstand one another. I thought Jordan was very noble in the way he handled the latest Cathy Newman interview insanity.
I haven't had the chance to read his book YET, but I have watched him promote it. From what I understand it is one of his 12 rules to always listen to others in the chance that they might just know something you do not. He practices what he preaches. Conversely, Newman either didn't listen to what he said, or was only interested in his character assassination.
Absolutely! One of the characteristics of the postmodernists that is so destructive is their fixed attempts in creating no differentiation between everything else. If everything is of equal value, then nothing is of value.
Post Modernism teaches people to form world views based on feelings and emotions and bend facts in order to fit said world view. Philosophy and logic teaches the use of factual information and the removal of contradictions in order to form a world view based on truth.
I got the Kindle version, I truly admire Jordan Peterson, I wish I could express myself as clearly as he can.
I hear ya on that one! Like he says, that if you can speak, write, and think, you're pretty deadly right? ;)
Well, yes, that's a pretty powerful combination.
