Dion and the Belmonts is some good early rock and roll. "I wonder Why" is a classic hit, having some interesting lead vocal cool background and electric guitar.
"The Wanderer" was another cool hit of the Dion and the Belmonts with an upbeat piano melody and interesting horn section. Overall it was a cool band with some good music to listen to and good at setting a mood, theme.
"Runaround Sue" is another hit, with some cool background vocals. It discusses young love, voluntary association, and love. Great rock and roll song with a common focus of pop music love.
I haven't known a ton of Donna's, maybe it was popular a generation ago or perhaps my sample size's have been biased. But Dion and the Belmont's, like Ritchie Valens had a song using that name: "Donna The Prima Donna."
Probably my favorite Dion and the Belmont's tune is "A Teenager in Love" the video is interesting and starts with asking the audience to locate the band. It discusses teen angst. The interesting vocal harmonies makes the song fun to hear.
Thank you for resurrecting these old videos and songs. Even though these are before my time, the songs are classics and they take you back to another time. Even if only by imagination. And yes, a teenager in love is extra classic.
