Horse Racing revived now as Bot Bidding, at least in my Mind

in #bot7 years ago (edited)

In my early 20´s I used to be heavily involved in horse racing, every Saturday & Sunday, every week, every month.

And looking within my head for an analogy to Upvote Bidding Bots, **Horse Racing is what came out

The only difference is that in real Horse Racing only the 1º and the 2º make a win. With Bots all they win, but if you make the calculation you are loosing even if it appear that you are winning. And let me explain why:

Lets take a real example, without entering into the calculation of the Square Root Curation

I took 0.355 and bet against @smartsteem. It ended paying out 0.77 and the Bot claiming at 10.12% Upvote, which by itself is misleading, since we don´t have the base number.

Now the funny part: Since I didn´t bet at t=0 age for the post, my part is only 75%. The Bot takes 25% Curation Reward.
All of this means I will be getting only 75%*50% SBD of my original Bet which bring us to 0.289, leaving me with a lost of 0.066.

The only way I had to truly win was at t=0, making the Bot lose its 25% curation reward.

I don´t know the Curation Leaking Formula but it must be something like this:

25%*(1-t/30); where t runs from 0 to 30

CONCLUSION

If you go Bid Bot Upvoting, make sure you, simultaneously, publish the post and bid at 2 minutes before the BOT Closes the Bidding Period. Otherwise, you will loose. At t= 15 minutes, you probably brake even.

And I didn´t bid on this post since I spent all my SBD betting on old post. In fact, I made the mistake twice. Still, the procedure is not wire in my head, but soon will be tested out. But here you can see a real example in my first testing of the theory: https://steemit.com/blockchain/@justinomora/uses-and-application-of-steemit-blockchain-technology-my-personal-view

Great post. Yeah, I've never used upvote bots. Even doing simple mental calculations the return is miniscule in the best case scenario. It would seem to be more profitable to use an upvote bot right after posting to get exposure on the hot list or even the trending list, but in truth those lists are clogged already.

In my mind the best investment on steemit is to try and lease delegated steem power.

If you don't care about self upvoting, then you win in the end. I've done some rough math and the return is as high as 900% if you were completely selfish with upvoting (don't quote me on that number, it was rough math).

If you hate self upvoting, then steemfollower.com will give you the same outcome monetarily (if you make good posts) as being completely selfish, but without actually being completely selfish.

I do both myself, plus upvote comments on my posts and any other posts I like, and I figure my return is still 100's of percent higher than my monthly cost.

I was not aware of Bot Bidding. I tested with 14 SBD and I ended up with 20. The second time I took a hit, and went down to 17.

With my hands burned, I went into a peripatetic walk, thinking into the problem. And all of the sudden I saw the dammed Square Root Curation Calculation. Hence I concluded, Bots can be rapped, too.

And I came to test the idea again. This time with 30 SBD. Right now, I am doing fine. 30 SBD coming within 5 days, and 6 Steem Power as my real win.

Next time I am going to test with 50, as I Power Down and change it into SBD to be used as fuel for rocket 🚀 the Bots

If you are above 500 Steem Power, you can play too with the Square Root Game over 30 minutes posts with zero value

Really Amazing @justinomora.

I am planning to game with 20 BOTS. Currently testing 10 of them. I am going to aligned them as if they were Spartan Phalanx.

No idea how fast I can publish and Bid Bots. One will need at least a Tablet and a Laptop to play the game.

I am having a Hell of Fun, doing this, since it challenge my mind: Fast computations, fast decision and a slim chance of making some SBD and Steem Power, while marketing myself. I found that just incredible & fascinating.
