How it works
It uses the Followed list from my account. My Followed list is all military veterans and currently serving members from all branches and various countries.
Like all bots, sometimes it breaks down. When it's automation fails it is manually operated by @rakkasan84.
The comments that @shadow3scalpel leaves behind are identical no matter if machine or man posted. The only way to tell the difference is by examining the transaction.
What it does
The account upvotes veterans and helps them curate their posts. The messages it leaves typically indicate that @rakkasan84 read the post.
How veterans feel about it
This is an opt-out bot. Those who don't wish to see the comments are manually opted out of its path. Most enjoy seeing it pass by. For some this is the only comment they receive at first.
Harming the bot in any way also harms morale. We encourage folks to interact with it as all comments are manually replied to and read by its owner and maintenance crew.
If you see the bot pass by a post, it means the post's author wants it there.

If you're a military serving member or veteran just let any of us currently-active veterans know anywhere, including here in the comments.
