Things have changed. Are they for the better?

I'm new here. Well, old new. New to Hive. Old to Steemit.

It seems, that the lady with handicapped kids is on a downvoting bot spam list for no reason. I'm reading this is because of the fork and dormant accounts, as well as, certain bots which used to be okay are no longer considered "cool" anymore. And people are being punished.

This disturbs me.

Steemit was founded on liberty and a censorship free workspace. I realize that a downvote is not censorship. Because it is a user. However, when that downvote is from a whale on a new adopter, well, it's cruel. And it certainly IS censoring essentially.

While there is no governing force, it is like being a small voice and some big bully decides to physically cover my mouth. What's the difference?

Super f-ing cruel.

Moreover, with no easy remedy to fix it, insulting.

I went to some discords to seek someone to speak with only to notice I am not permitted to speak in any channel except general. No mods are online. And it seems I'm not the only one complaining about being pick-pocketed.

I know I built on the former platform. I brought hundreds of people to the former steem.

Also, I noticed there is some 20K proposal to do a marketing campaign. That is just ridiculous. Someone like ME could onboard 10,000 people for nothing. I could have VC's and devs crawling all over this place. I'm currently on 4 platforms now with over 12million people. But my welcome was not warm.

This is my free speech opinion. It would have been nice to have been greeted with education and open arms than a malware bot.

Bots used to be okay for minnows who were just trying to get involved with the platform. Essentially as well, if the code allows it, nobody should be using whales to downvote minnows/dolphins.

I realize my voice is limited. And who am I? I lost my keys. I have been absent. It is what it is and was beyond my control. But what is going to happen is a wide scale marketing effort, and then a bunch of angry new people who feel robbed instantly.

But this is just my opinion. I think this platform is and should be far superior to another platform I'm on- Bitclout. But I would be disheartened to bring anyone new to the platform with what seems to still be a the problems of the former, carrying forward.

Still, I'm happy to have joined. And I will be here, for better or worse.
