Happy Big Rock Day!
This big boulder is in the
Ninilchik river near the
village of Ninilchik.
Photo from April 2019
November 2002 flooding
17 years ago Ninilchik, Alaska.
Photo of six pieced together
old film photos.
Road to the beach and
bridge to the village was
washed out.
The same boulder can be
seen in old and new photos.
Did it move a little?
Double clicking the
photos enlarges them
to see better.
Show us your boulders
Large rocks are needed
roll them on over.
Must be your own photos!
Boulder location would be
great to know if possible.
Drop a link to your
boulder below so we
don't miss your post!
Many thank you's
to all the boulder posters!
It is a real pleasure to
see them!

Love the old school photo collage! That rock probably moves around all the time when no one is looking :)
Thank you @rossfletcher! It seems a little closer to the bridge now than it use to! :-)
Rock n Roll!
That is one big happy rock and has the river all to itself did it get washed there by the floods ??
Thank you @hangin! It might of a long, long time ago, that
or left by the glaciers :-)
Very nice in any case :)
That’s really enormous rock in a beautiful rectangular shape!
Thank you @kaminchan! :-) It's almost a boulder boat! lol
If it’s a bit elongated, we could see a submarine!

That is a massive boulder! Pretty impressive. The power of water is pretty incredible. Good job on the photo stitching!
Thank you @melinda010100! :-) A ancient stitch of old film photos
kinda lined up and then took a photo of the photos long ago or did
I scan it in? haha. It has been many moons! 🌙
Hello...!!!
@shasta
Wonderful river boulder.... !!!!
It looks so close to the riverbank you almost climb up on it...🤔. I'm crazy enough to try and do that.
:D
Thank you @annephilbrick! Next time we go there
I will check out how close to the river bank it is! :-)
Another really impressive Boulder, and it makes me wonder how long it has been sitting there watching so many changes made by man all around it, the stories it could tell
Thank you @tattoodjay! I always wonder that also, what changes
they must have witnessed, the boulder rock watchers! :-)
Someone needs to do a googly Eyes bolder shot and title it the Boulder Rock Watchers LOL
That looks like a rough river with those white caps but at least it isn't even close to the flooding stage again. What an awesome idea of putting the 6 photos together @shasta! You always seem to have a surprise. : )
Here is mine. Happy Solstice @shasta! : )

Nice size boulder, Shasta. Awesome photo of the flooding.
I’m short of a boulder for this week. 😊
Thank you @redheadpei! Tall, medium and short boulders oh my! :-)
No problem, the right size will be seen soon. They hide sometimes lol
We need to hunt down some new ones before winter!
