Happy Big Rock Day!
Early or late anytime is
good for a boulder date.
These boulders were spotted
along the road near
south Soldotna Alaska.
Photos were taken around
August 29th 2019.
While there was still lots of
autumn colors. All that color
is long gone now.
Fireweed was fluffing real
good that day.
Right now it's the brown season.
The time before the snow.
Temps in the 40's with
rain, lots of rain.
These are a couple of
granite boulders.
With some shadows going on.
Many boulders were moved around
and brought down here by
mighty glaciers long ago.
Not just once but several times.
The ice giants left many
erratics laying around.
Show us your boulders
Large rocks are needed
roll them on over.
Must be your own photos!
Boulder location would be
great to know if possible.

It's so boulderful!!!
Oh that is a wonderful new word @havtorn! :-)
Ones up in a time... all words were new!
Those are great boulders, Shasta. I’ve got to keep an eye out for some. 😊 💕
Thank you so much ❤ @redheadpei! :-)
I'm seeing a few more now that the leaves fell, but soon
they will be hiding under those white coats lol
Love the random boulders @shasta. That's some fine granite.
Thank you very much @summertooth! :-)
There is quite a few granite ones around here, no hex's tho!
I really loved seeing your hexagonal boulders!
Those are some very nice boulders you captured there @shasta!! Seeing that fireweed is like icing on a cake and a very nice addition! I gotta get out and find me some more boulders. I mean I found some but they were surrounded by mud which came across like you would expect in my photos...muddy! 🤔 😏
Thank you so much ❤ @deerjay! :-)
Muddy boulders, made me think of those costly
mud mineral baths and those sports played in the
mud with vehicles and those mud wrestlers lol
Oh and those strong man competitions lifting big rocks
is it was done in mud oh my!
New muddy boulder sport in the making! hehe
You are very welcome! I never did the mud bath thing..I mean other than playing in the mud when I was a kid..lol! 😉 😁
mmm they said mud pies were good for us lol
Another great sighting of boulders they just seem to fall in front of you everywhere you go 🙂
Thank you @hangin! :-) Quite a few of them, hope one don't
fall in front lol A lot of them look the same, many are used as
blockers to keep autos out! But these were more of the wild type!
Your welcome @shasta lets hope not it wouldn't be a nice scene 🙀
More fantastic Alaska boulders! ❤️
Thank you ❤ @melinda010100! :-)
I need to find some more of them before
winter really hits!
I was just wondering what photos I am going to use to make it through the winter!
hmm maybe a recropping or edit art of older boulders?
I'd like to see mushroom rock again! :-))
No boulders here where I live. Hmmm... what are they, real large rocks by nature ?
Yep boulders are real large rocks! :-)
I love yours pics too. I wish I get a new phone already.
Thank you @erelasblog! :-)
