Jermell Charlo VS. Jorge Cota
Jermell Charlo VS. Jorge Cota
Jermell Charlo improved his record to 32-1-16 kOs with a brutal third round stoppage of Jorge Cota, Charlo sent the brave Mexican to the canvas not once, but twice, before the ref decided to call a halt to the bout. Cota beat the ten count on the first knocked down and bravely rose to fight on unsteady legs, but the second knockdown was clean and decisive, no count was needed nor given.
The former WBC world champion, Jermell, will now be setting his sights on revenge against the man who dethroned him last December and took his perfect record, Tony Harrison. Harrison, who was at ringside for the bout, watched on as his future opponent looked impressive in his win and then proceeded to called him out after at the post fight interview.
Charlo was cheered on by his older twin brother Jermall 28-0 21 KOs at ringside, who is also a professional boxer, and has an upcoming bout against Brandon Adams in houston this Saturday for Jermalls WBC interim middleweight title. He will be hoping for a equally impressive result and in a similar fashion.
