Joseph Parker VS. Alex Leapai

Joseph Parker 26-2 20KOs had a unconvincing return to form against the overmatched but extremely durable and tough Alex Leapai 32-8-4 27KOs with a dominating 10th round stoppage. Leapai looked completely out of his element at this level of the professional game at this advanced age and was used more as a punching bag rather than a live wire opponent.

Parker, the former WBO world champion, is currently in the process of rebuilding his career, after two losses in a row to Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte, and desperately needed a win if he hopes to get in the mix and challenge for world honours again. This was the first of a three fight deal he signed with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing promotions.

Parker set out to make an impression and score an early knock-out as he set on Leapai from the opening bell, throwing everything in his arsenal, but Leapai's granite chin and his toughness carried him through the onslaught and all the way to the 10th round when the referee decided enough was enough and called a halt to the fight.
