Life & Death Haikus: Dillian Whyte Is Ordered By WBC To Fight Luis "King Kong" Ortiz (Original Poem)

in #boxing7 years ago

Don't call that man old
Then get scared when mandated
To fight King Kong next...

Dillian Whyte is an interesting character. He is a fairly entertaining boxer/fighter to watch, and always gives 100% effort and even hurt Anthony Joshua during their professional bout, but being that it is the heavyweight division, that is to be expected because Anthony Joshua is not invincible and has shown some weaknesses with getting caught flush at times, but we're not here for that. Dillian Whyte has called Luis Ortiz an old man, and has even gone so far as to call out Deontay Wilder who brutally knocked down Luis Ortiz three times and knocked him out in their recent fight together. Of course Dillian Whyte wants a big pay day versus Deontay Wilder and have a shot at that WBC title, but he shouldn't try and downplay Wilder's emphatic win over King Kong Ortiz, because Ortiz is still the third most feared heavyweight fighter and the most skilled and overall rounded fighter of all the heavyweights, regardless of him being 40 years old or older (No one knows his true age because of his Cuban background). Dillian Whyte is now with Eddie Hearn, his promoting, protesting the mandated bout versus King Kong and it is ironic because he has often said he isn't afraid to fight anyone, but I hope the WBC does keep their mandatory order as standing, and see Dillian Whyte's chin tested again versus a credible name and reputation from King Kong Ortiz. My prediction for this fight if it goes down is Luis King Kong Ortiz to knock out Dillian Whyte before the 9th Round.

Hi @verbal-d, Dillian Whyte sure has a big mouth and likes to talk trash..

Ortiz is a risky fight for him and it would be a good one to see what level the top heavyweights are truly operating at. If Ortiz easily KOs Whyte then we can give a lot more props to Wilder.

But if its the other way round everyone will say Ortiz was over the hill so the best name on Deontay's record isn't all that..

If Whyte beats Ortiz and becomes a real player on this heavyweight scene then a fight with Wilder or a Joshua rematch becomes a big deal on its own without worrying about Joshua vs Wilder being made.

I think Whyte's real beef is that he has taken a harder route to become No.1 in the WBC rankings than Dominic Breazeale who has now been given WBC mandatory status for Wilder after beating Eric Molina..

It looks like Whyte will be fighting Kubrat Pulev next anyway for the IBF but I think this Ortiz fight still might happen at the end of the year because that would be a big fight in the UK
