This isn't one of my usual posts but I wanna share a cool app.
- Brave is a browser with an ad/trackblocker built in, so it's meant to be fast and secure (a relative term).
- It's opensource - the business model doesn't rely on secretly tracking your data and selling it to advertisers behind your back.
- For most average users, it's perfect for browsing websites like youtube or steemit 😉

One problem you might encounter is that this browser blocks nearly everything, including the cookies, but many websites (steemconnect) will not work when cookies are blocked.
Don't panic. All you have to do is allow cookies.
(and be selective about which sites you trust)
Certain websites will not work with encryption or adblock so you have to play around with the settings. It's a little more cumbersome than using chrome/firefox/safari/etc, but I like Brave because you get to choose what to block for each site.
As you can see I'm blocking ads on youtube and steemit.
I hate ads, especially when they're profiting off your privacy and data. Cookies aren't considered safe either but you can't block them all (in a perfect world I would love to).
I'm not dealing with the crypto/token part of this browser because that's probably another topic on its own.

thanks amigo. yes ads are super annoying! brave is almost another form of advertising without the videos/banners/trackers. so far i like what i'm seeing.
it's also got some crypto aspect to it which i didn't cover in this post because i haven't looked too deep into it yet. maybe i will later :)

Nunca habia oido hablar de ese navegador llamado Brave @roundbeargames pero de verdad que se ve muy interesante su utilización ya que nos permite bloquear los anuncios que no queremos ver y lo mejor es que según puedo leer este navegador tambien posee un token de verdad es una información que nos puede ser muy util. some of them probably won't work with an adblocker but you should try :)

I'm too lazy to switch my browser and I love my google chrome too <3 but i've been hearing about this brave a lot, need to check it out sometime.

Brave is basically google chrome. It's built on Chromium. All the buttons, layout, settings, plug-ins are the same. In fact, all chrome plug-ins work on Brave.But you get better built-in Ad blockers, privacy protection and so on.

네 결국 브레이브도 일종의 광고시스템이라 할 수 있지만 비디오/배너/트래커 등등이 없어서 갠적으로 맘에 드는 모델입니다 ^ㅅ^

i only come online maybe once a few days. but i do try to reply to everybody 🐻
maybe if the smartphone with a large RAM can use many applications, but not on my smartphone😄

it's never easy to change os or browser or anything of the sort.
but to me blocking ads on steemit was a big enough incentive to switch 😁
I used to use Brave on my phone. My main motivation was that the included blockers should decrease my data traffic. Ironically there was some bug that artificially increased my data usage 🤔
So in the end I had to remove it (since it ate up half of my monthly available data volume) and replace it Opera Mini, which also has built-in blockers.

Yes, so far I'm happy with Opera, but I will give Brave another try in the future since I prefer to use open software.

i immediately decided to use brave after steemit inc announced the ads. and then i realize that a lot of people are already using it! even better!
Brave gained its reputation and huge userbase last year. However if you just want to block the ad while sticking to your own original browser, check out the best ad block uBlock Origin, available for famous browsers!

for now i'd say it's good as a browser. not as some confusing ui and tokens.
It may be a waste of time but you can register your youtube site as a publisher or creator and then receive tips.
