PANCAKE FAIL

in #breakfast7 years ago

This morning I thought I would try American type of pancakes for the first time. Here in Serbia we don't make them like that, we make them thin and big, like crepes.

I wanted to make a little bit healthier version so I used:

  • 2 small bananas
  • 1 egg
  • a little bit of cinnamon
  • a little bit of cacao
  • a little bit of baking powder
  • eventually I decided to throw in some flax seeds

First I mashed the bananas...

Then I whisked the egg...

And finally I mixed all the ingredients together. This is when I decided to add flax seeds which was probably a bad idea, I think I should put them into a food processor first, but I was too lazy and hungry haha.

I was quite confident that they will turn out great...

Oh boy! They didn't! I don't know if the consistency was not good enough, or maybe the flax seeds messed it up or my flipping skills... They were falling apart a little bit but the taste of them was good, similar to banana bread muffins I used to make all the time. I sliced up one pear on the side and since this was already sweet enough for me, I didn't end up adding any sweetener.

If you have any tips for these kind of pancakes, please share them in the comments. I will definitely try making them again. Maybe next time I should find a recipe online and follow the instructions. :D
