A sprinkle of DASH,
a tangled pair of LTCs,
and an atom of ZEC.
I'm moving on.
(You guys still owe me some Steem Dollars)
(Note: To make it clear, I just migrated my coins elsewhere because the recent Steem transfer delays are becoming unacceptable. I've also read somewhere recently that our current generation wouldn't accept anything less than 5 seconds. That's the point where most of us would begin to terminate business relationships - just out of latency. This has been happening with websites, and I think should seep into token transfer times sometime in the near future. If you think about it, anything longer really doesn't make any sense especially when technologies are advancing)
Same boat here. Got rid of than uneasy feeling. Bliss

Why are you moving away from poloniex? Is there any reason to do so? Where is the safe heaven where you are going to? Are they free of disappointments and failures such as you may have experienced in Polo?
So far Bittrex has been working fine. Although i would like to completely move away from centralised exchanges into decentralised ones. But the volumes for DEXs is a setback at the moment. Give and take, i guess..
Which of the exchanges do you have in mind now?
Im still with Poloniex, but will be moving soon, here's why...
most of all, the reason is as some1 already mentioned - it's becoming a hassle to sell via their interface, it's just to laggy. Between the tick/change of price and you being able to make an order it's several seconds.
btw. I was using them couple of months ago and you could still have open 3 tabs without crashing other (poloniex) tabs, now it's kind of impossible.
They're making great money, but the website is designed and working like the servers would be on 56kbits (im on 200 megs and everything is just blazing fast so it's poloniex). Despite being on nginx (or it's just reverse proxy from cloudflare) it doesnt look like they're load balancing or doing anything else that should be done with a any non-static website that's growing fast.
Now if i compare degradation of services in frame of November to June/July then it's just a tragedy - if it'll continue like that I dont want to think how it will work in couple of months. In the end it's a stupid story - loosing money because they cannot program/admin well enough.
Actually because of that (visible lack of it pros in team) Im afraid to keep anything there when there will be btc forking/splitting etc.
Well, a nice argument. I wish you well. It is just that I have been in bittrex too and I have had course to complain about their service. They added alot of coins now majority of which are shit coin which they pump and dump at will.
I was thinking Polo was pumping and dumping until I saw what has been happening in bittrex lately. Some coin will go like 1000% in split seconds and go back to zero per cent.
Considering the massive number of complaints I hear about Poloniex, I'm surprised anyone still uses them!
I know! I think people were sticking with them due to familiarity and higher volumes. Enough!
I guess some of us just take our time..
polonies offers the most volume, i never had problems with them.
lending trades everything is good.. dont know why everyone is complaining so much and whining
I've also never had any issues personally, but I've seen many that have, so I've reduced my holdings to the bare minimum... Just in case!
We are complaining because we've seen similar patterns before when it came to Mt.gox and Crypsy. There's too many online complaints of stuck/missing deposits/withdrawals emerging and strange behaviour for there not to be something seriously wrong with Poloniex. Either they're not re-investing any of the money they've raised in fees in support staff and servers, or they're selectively scamming and getting ready for the big exit scam. Pick your poison, neither's good.
I've seen multiple times when a coin is being pumped and dumped that the wallets of those coins are under repair.
Good bye Polo and I don't even cry anymore 🙈 Turn around and never look back. Unauthorized withdrawl from who ??? Not me ! My funds just gone and no replies to my complain tickets
Looks like many of us have stuck monies in polo..
I bailed out few weeks ago. Their behaviour reminded me too much of what I experienced at Cryptsy.
Yeah which is why i had to move. Too many warnings from others and it'd be stupid not to budge..
The first sign of lying and bullshit by the exchange is when they like robots ban complaining users in chatroom under FUD excuse like Cryptsy did. They went even further by completely disabling the troll box.
I am certain that they did insider trading and manipulation of XRP price in April. Suddenly it was not possible for me to do trade for hours when the price either suddenly went up a lot or was badly dumped.
I'd like to move too, but my STEEM is locked there, and don't want to sell low there and buy high on bittrex 😭
Yeah I guess there's no choice for Steem atm, lucky i managed to move them out recently. The only thing Poloniex still has going for it is the night-mode user interface that looks good.. but again that's just appearance.
Stupid me, i knew the box getting removed was a bad omen, still kept trading n now @poloniex owes me hundreds of steem...😫
I sent them there to buy LTC 15 days ago and still nothing. Busoni on blow now prolly got all our coins up his nose
But the next best alternative is Bittrex, aren't the fees a little steep though?
Don't trade much at all so its okay :) liqui and bts dex too
POLO really is stincky last weeks! Soo many coins in hold and wallets not really working! While Bittrex is super fast! Also opened an account with Kraken. Still holding most of my trading coins on Polo though. Tested Coinigy as a front-end for trading and that service is very cool! Great analyses tools. Cost some money though, 20$ or so per months; It has integration with many exchanges. One good thig of Polo is the volumes they have; That is my main reason I'm still using it.
But love to figure out what is a good alternative. Any suggestions?
What exchanges are you now using?
I'm not trading often so i'm not really looking around. Only bittrex and liqui at the moment, along with some exchanges for other random coins. Coinigy is awesome, but i've stopped using it since i found that I'm not the kind that will use it often enough. Yeah, if volumes grow in DEXs, that'll be perfect..
Liqui, I have it written down somewhere and still need to try. Thanks for your feedback on that.
I've been using Bittrex for three years now and I've never had an issue. It works great for me.
Thank you for your feedback. Have a Bittrex account. Somehow I dont like the screens to execute minute trading. For breakout trading, Bittrex screens looks fine to me.
I don't trust Poloniex anymore, I moved onto Bittrex. It was the shutting of the trollbox which was a red flag to me. All I will use Poloniex for now is their charts which are quite good, at least until the owner runs off to China.
Yeah they've shutdown the trollbox so there are more people for the support line. Better move would've been to just hire MORE people for support.
Well isn't Poloniex such a great currency exchange...
Let's see if they will resolve any problems with their site or if they are going to continue to rob people out of their money.
Which exchange have you been using instead?
Bittrex, liqui, bts.. but seriously i think someone just needs to clone Poloniex and make it decentralised lol
Good choice, move it all.. indeed the child now in the future won't except 1 minute delay for transfer money. I must ne in a split second. For example driving a car and passing a toll road. It must be paid within a split second...
Haha we're spoilt. But yes, cash transfer can and should be minimised.
Indeed, traditional cash transfer is really outdated.. unbelievable you have to wait such a long time.. It's just a matter of time until the rest of the world see the value of crypto and quick transfers.. but now ransomware association with BTC is too big.. At the moment the news flow will be too the positive side it will be huge. In 6 months it can make a real difference and then banks are too late to act.
How true. And increasingly, personal relationships :)
Sadly, it'll take me months to move coins out of Poloniex. Still haven't reapproved my L2. It's become a daily ritual for me...
I know the feeling! I've been moving my XRP out slowly. Only one more transfer to go, and I'm done!
Hmm i think you may be right lol
Months? is it like 100 bucks a day?
2000/day. I was verified there so I could move 7K per day. Liberosist must have a lot of money on the exchange :D
I could never bring my self to keep all that much there.... even when I wasn't afraid of losing it. Never know what will happen.
I'm not much of a day trader. Although I can see when the dips are coming, I just hodl. The whole market seems to move together anyway, I don't see the point.
Well i think it's worth trading if one has the time, you can effectively increase your holdings by buying buying low and selling high, although at the "risk" of missing the moonshot
But selling into what? When ETH dips, so does BTC and LTC and vice versa. Unless you are selling for cash/fiat? I guess this is where I find trouble, the whole market seems to follow one another, aside from the few shitcoins that get pumped randomly.
More power to day traders that make a profit, I just don't see where to go when the inevitable dip comes.
Perhaps USDT?
It's true that hodling is the easiest and most effective. Trading has its time frames as market activity and would make a lot of sense to have it gamified instead of just being a gamble, which is why stuff like numerai and santiment are interesting projects. I guess keeping some coins in decent-volume exchanges is just all some fomo going on :)
I have had a very long history with poloniex. I too have pulled the last of my funds out as of yesterday. I don't know if I will ever return, I mean never say never... but they certainly don't have my trust anymore. Earn it back polo, right now you look like Mt Gox/Cryptsy 3.0
I've never gone through mt gox and cryptsy so I don't know how its like. But seeing so many complaints and experiencing myself, it'd be somewhat stupid if i do nothing..
Even keeping small amounts on polo i feel
Is like just waiting to b robbed, i got .0007 USDT left there and that's it, n i always had at least a 600 btc 30 day trailing average for trades
I have witnessed them all, I didn't use Gox, but was around during its fall from grace. I used cryptsy but got my money out when things were getting a bit shady. The polo situation feels like both of those to me all over again, so just to be safe I'm outta there. Plenty of other acceptable options. Bittrex works just fine and has a good variety of coins.
The world of cryptocurrency is still quite foreign to me. There are many things that I still need to study, and these exchanges seem kind of scary. (⁎˃ᆺ˂)
It's wild2west, take your time! But in the end, you'd need to put some faith in the tech and try out small amounts as a starter. The big gains we're seeing in this game aren't without its risks..
This all happened so quickly. I feel like 2-3 months ago there were a lot of people on Steemit proclaiming the end of Bittrex, which they said was about to go down and definitely terrible to use.
Now fast forward and Poloniex is the villian, and everybody is praising Bittrex. oof!
Maybe it's just my imagination, I don't know. For now I am also keeping off of Polo, but who knows what will happen in another few months.
Well definitely a secure and highly functional DEX is soon to be a requirement. I think Poloniex just has a pretty good UI.. (ok, and volume)
Perhaps Polo and many of us are doing that, "Victims of their own success" tango. There's a number of things I like about Polo but on three occassions they've suspended coin deposits/withdrawals on my stuff.
There is another old, old song about taking one out to a ballgame, appropriate to the 4th of July, "... and it's One, TWo, THREE STRIKES, You're Out!!!"... At the old coin game. I'll miss the volume at Polo... Oh, well... And so it goes...
Crypto-emo and drama-mamas xD I guess it's only right. There's actual value in these magic internet money..
Bittrex?
I also shifted half of my coins to bittrex.
Now I am planning to shift SC to bittrex but a bit afraid that polo might got my transaction hold.
Bittrex, BTS, liqui for me at the moment..
LOL. What a funny situation eh?
What platform are you moving to next and how the hell do we get out steem & sbd out of the polo grounds?
Hopefully steem wallet would function like a decentralised exchange sometime in the future :) that'll be perfect lol
My fairly large SBD amount showed up in polo wallet after 3 days, so not all hope is lost. They will resolve this with time, I hope.
Been a couple weeks for me.. I think they really need to hire way more people to scale up to their current operations.
What happened with poloniex? Many steemian complaints about poloniex.
Just delays and bad excuses.. well maybe legit excuses but if there are better alternatives..
So moving on too! I find it hard to trust someone who withholds information from me... And forces me to wait for what's mine... And doesn't say anything for days, only to lie to me and say everything will be fine tomorrow, and when tomorrow comes, they cook up another story... Doesn't take long to realize you're being played for a fool!
F it, I'm gone 💔
haha u got a better letter there xD
Hahaha
@kevinwong sounds like you're disappointed or something.. What's wrong?
Personally think their reasons for transfer delays are becoming unnacceptable. For example, my STEEM / SBD transfers are already stuck for a couple of weeks. We can make and participate in better alternatives
True indeed we need to keep our standards high. If these sites want to make millions of dollars with us then they need to step up their service.. No excuse.......
They are in trouble after this steem debacle!
Right, Poloniex doesn't deserve any business!
Well to be fair, they've been quite good at securing my funds for years. Maybe they should just hire way more people for their size of operations..
Congrats! You're a winner of @msg768's daily giveaway #27. To find out more, click HERE.
Thank you!!!
The good news is ... You should make it all back in this one post. :-)
Oh to make it clear, Poloniex has never lost any of my funds (except for the recent SBD / Steem transfer delays, which can be considered lost until they deposit it..)
I just in case brought everything from polonieksa for a long time.
yeah just in case.. :D
Would you suggest to invest in steem for future point of view?
Can't suggest for anyone, but there are reasons why i've been holding onto steem power :)
I prefer Bittrex personally, where did you move?
Bittrex and Liqui and BTS (decentralised, but lacking volume / liquidity)..
Bitshares Dex too?
You have done well to get your funds out. Mine are trapped with 'pending approval'.
Yeah, I went to bittrex and a few other ones weeks ago. Poloniex is wack, still waiting for a few transfers for 5 weeks lol
Good choice, better take a little loss then wait for site to go full scam
Good choice! I want to see Poloniex go out of business!
I'm sure polo will fix problems in time, but I don't blame you for moving now.
Hi Raw, I was believing that couple of months ago and since then it got only worse : / but come one... we're in 2017, a website cannot handle 2 much of traffic? it's a joke!
Was forced to make the move to Brittrex awhile back. Never been Happier :)
Good Luck...
I left my poly , to.much headache.
Good job buddy! Everyone should do the same. They owe me too and I'm still pissed by the way but my posts about their dodgy activities made up! Upvoted and resteemed. Let us all march against @poloniex!
Still haven't had a problem with Poloniex!
Boo!
poloniex is not to be trusted ! Gotta run from it.
Everybody should leave Poloniex!
Steem
Shame on Poloniex!
Poloniex is not to be trusted !
my steem in poloniex...... is terrible..
thank you for posting
Everyone should do the same!
I'll use bittrex instead.
