Yes, the same can be said when repeating a word over and over again...it simultaneously loses meaning while also imbuing greater and greater emphasis with each and every repetition. Just think of mantras that typically repeat words and phrases again and again to trigger hypnotic states; a state that is achieved by dipping into the realms where both meaning and the meaningless become enmeshed.
