What are followers of Buddhism called? Buddhists or Buddhas?

Hey guys!

I've been learning a bit about Buddhism recently and was wondering if a newly "converted" Buddhist should actually be called a Buddha? If they've "converted" surely they must have become awoken and I've read that Buddha means awoken one, so to me it would make sense!
