Hi , this is Mechwarrior and im going to talk about my experience in splinterlands playing on a budget with some good tips on how to do it .
First my cash is usually pretty tight especially lately with all the stuff going on in rl, so i did my best to actually play without spending nearly anything at first!.
Someone showed me a site called https://www.growyourbase.co it let you do simple quick tasks to get virtual items and collectibles!
i was able to do the tasks in under 10 minutes and in 24 hours I got a code for splinterlands starter!
Sadly im not sure if they have any more in stock.
The second thing im going to talk about is delegation , delegation can be for cards or even accounts , this lets you play someone elses cards or even account safely for both people.
I made a deal with people to use there account with good cards on it and I would get 50% of rewards split on season end , for someone new this can add up fast and use it to buy better cards for your main account.
There is a lot of players with extra cards willing to freely delegate you them for long period of time which is detrimental as a new player , I cannot stress enough how much these things help.
I advice you to do dailies every single day to, the rewards can be huge sometimes with enough luck, two seasons ago i received a 30 usd gold foil legendary on the delegated account i used, that's 15 usd per person we split on 1 single card reward from 20 minutes of play!.
Also in my opinion I think renting cards help, it lets you use higher end cards on a low budget especially for tournaments if need be without having to buy them and commit
https://peakmonsters.com/market is great site to rent cards or even buy from !
Lastly I would recommend playing in your level based tournaments as much as possible! , it is usually near free to enter and the dec adds up from even low end wins!

Nice you got a Gold foil, nice to have you on Splinterlands.
Good job @mechwarrior, very good to see a post from you :) ... and you are a good player and I'm happy to have you as my teammate!!!
This is a very good post mechwarrior. I look forward to others. Your use of the word "detrimental" seems out of place. It didn't seem to fit the sentence.
I hope you do more writing.
