I hear you, and I really don't like it either. But with the bot tracker any refunds come out of our pocket, as it comes from money others have bid. It's not like selling a product that gets returned and we can resell it. Our voting power is used, and it is distributed to other voters. They never even know there was a refund, and bid as if there wasn't.
For example, say we have a 20 SBD profitable window, you bid 5 SBD and I refund it. It means we make 15 SBD. Next window there are no refunds, people will bid near the 20 SBD. So we don't make more or less by keeping anyone's money, but we do lose money with refunds.
There are also a few scammers going around abusing bots that give refunds using multiple accounts.
I am working on testing a new system that will allow us to turn refunds back on, but I need to do more testing before switching over.
I am genuinely sorry, I've given 500+ refunds manually before the bot tracker site came online. Although it does a lot of good, it also introduces unique problems for us.
