How to bid smart and effectively and win with @buildawhale!

in #buildawhale7 years ago

If you haven't seen this tool, you should check it out. As a bot owner, it is not in my best financial interest to promote this tool, but I don't think my users have to lose for me to win. Some people have their own tools that provide this information and some don't.

@yabapmatt took this problem and knocked it out of the park. I (@themarkymark) use this tool myself and have it up in a dedicated tab.

@yabapmatt's bid tracker allows you to see when our bidding round is about to end, and how many bids are in the queue. It even goes so far to show you how much of our vote will be profitable and counts down to break even point. It even takes in account curation rewards! He really thought of everything when he built this.

The site is very easy to use and updates in real time (well every 10 seconds). All the major voting bots are featured here with their total vote value, how often they vote (what % they do for each round), current queue size, profitability line, and how long until voting. The tool isn't 100% accurate, but it is extremely close. Like uncanny close.

It also can be used as a watchdog to see if a bot is abusing their voting power outside of the bidding windows. Any bot that is voting at 100% should drop down to a little below 98%. Going below 98% by more than few tenth's of a percent means a vote is being placed outside of the window either sold or manually, or there is a technical issue (which is sometimes unavoidable).

I made a recent suggestion for a new feature which I believe will be coming soon.

One thing I don't use, but it is a great feature if you want to plug in some numbers is the voting calculator.

This allows you to see what your bid will result in with the current bids in play.

You can find the tool here. If you have any questions, @yabapmatt is fantastic and I'm sure he will help you out.

Bid safe, bid smart, and everyone can win.

Could you stop selling votes on comments? or at least make sure they make less than what they sent?

This is something I have already considered doing, I believe the majority users use it for posts and most of the comments we are used on are typically the low effort variety. It will require code changes but something I think is probably for the best. I'll look into doing that.

Hi, I transferred 7 $ but there was no upvote while bellyrub did upvote me. Can you please refund?

Refund sent. The post was too old, we cannot vote on posts older than 6 days 8 hours.

thx

thx a lot. Will take care of that in the future...

Nice tool. I'll try it :)

@buildawhale would still benefit greatly as it is a great service and one of my favourites to use. For those that are smaller like I am and many others, it is helpful to know when to best vote and maximise our gain and our growth!

This is fantastic. Will help me save and earn some extra SP/SBD in the future. Much appreciated @yabapatt

This is very informative. Thanks for sharing :)

awesome. on it. thanks

it's a nice tool to try :)

Very nice tool to have at your side. Cheers @yabapmatt!

yes i am using it now...really good and up to date exposure of bots

I believe, now many people have started using this. However, still some people don't know about the bot tracker and still go ahead and transfer even after its exhausted with profit possibility, in which case, everyone occurs a loss 😃

Hmm the classic tradgedy of the commons

Plz giv me vote n lik my videos n i follow u n follow me.

This is not how it works

i give 1.104 sbd 8 hours aga but you do not vote my any post

The post is too old, we cannot vote on posts past 6 days 8 hours. Refund for 1.104 SBD sent.

Thanks for sharing

Hi, I transferred 3 STEEM but there was no upvote. Can you please refund?

Using 3 STEEM is for being featured in our daily Curation Digest and does not give an upvote. That is only for SBD transfers. They can be both used together, but STEEM is only for Sponsored Curation.

I sent you a refund, if you decide you do want a sponsored curation just send the 3 STEEM back and we will put it in the queue.

Thank you for your attention, I confused the objectives.

Thank you very much that was very useful post for me and really thank you for this tool that gone help me alot. Good luck to your project!

That's good. Right now, I can only afford 1 SBD occasionally. This could allow me to see when that 1 SBD will be more profitable than at other times.

The bot-vasion continues.

How long until its all bots?

Just mindlessly upvoting and posting throw-away comments, until the servers are powered down.

Without bots, Steemit would lose active users even faster. It is already somewhere between 5-15K active users for 400K+ accounts. Retention is already a major issue here, something that bots help slow down.

Many minnows depend on bots to get anything more than the typical 1-2 cents.

We are going to be removing votes on comments, and we have a system in place to report plagiarism and stolen content. Bots are similar to paid advertising on Facebook and other platforms.

We are far more than a mindless bot. We are actively building resources for the community like our daily Curation Digest and Author of the Day

I understand not everyone likes bots, but we try to be something different, and more community focused.

But how long until its all bots?

Excluding anything new, the trend seems to be up to the right in general.

I'm not arguing whether your bot is good or not, just the Steemit-wide system is being saturated.

I don't think that will ever happen and there is a lot of human interaction here. The bots are promotional tools, and won't change that.

What will change that is steemit.com issues, on-boarding issues, and minnows getting $0.01 payouts while whales getting $100-$600 a post, and all the other issues that discourage people from posting daily.

Hi @buildawhale, I used your service 3 times in last 2 days.
Out of that, 2 times I got less than what I bid. Recent one is few minutes back, where I transferred 1 SBD, but got 0.82 worth upvote and that too before curation amount. Is that fair? once in a while if we get a lesser vote, then it's fine, we can understand. But, if it happens very often, that's not fair, right?
Update: I just used your service one more time and again it's a lesser value upvote than the amount transferred. I am really dejected with this, though I still have faith in your service.
