I think you misread the message.
I disagree. The post said that a service that pumps up memes isn't helpful. How is that any different from pumping an essay that nobody thought was worth upvoting organically? Rewarding people with unearned upvotes in any form is toxic to the platform.
The majority of people posting memes are doing it because it is the lowest effort of content creation that is accepted right now.
If the community thinks it is amazing they will vote it up. I just won’t continue to reward thousands of people posting five memes a day to get maximum payout.
You are free to use any other bot that allows it. I just won’t.
My point is that ANY use of bots is gaming the system.
