Hello Friends, still in the continuation of the NO TO BULLYING campaign series.
I will like to start by saying this again and again that the first edition of this campaign series was inspired by a good friend, who is also a writer, a motivator and an inspiration to me since I joined this platform. I know her to be @michelle.gent.

What a world we live in where people are been bullied all the days of their lives. Imagine a situation whereby you have been bullied during your days in Kindergarten to your University level.
Now imagine that sigh of relieve in your mind saying you are now out of school hoping the bullying will stop.

But let me break this news to you that there are also bullies in the workplace i.e. your office. Therefore, this simply shows that one can get bullied all the days of his life without finding any permanent solution to it.
No wonder some people ended up committing suicide despite having everything life requires of them to have. They have the fame, popularity, wealth, but the kind of peace and acceptance they desire on their job is absent, just because some set of individual will not stop bullying them on a regular basis.
Ask me how I get to know that this is real then I will tell to you have been a victim of such workplace bullying before. But before I tell you my story, let’s define what workplace bullying is all about.

WHAT IS WORKPLACE BULLYING?
<According to the WORKPLACE BULLYING INSTITUTE, bullying at work means "repeated, health-harming mistreatment of a person by one or more perpetrators. It is abusive conduct that is: threatening, humiliating, or intimidating, or work interference or sabotage which prevents work from getting done, or verbal abuse." The organization further notes, "It is driven by the bully's or perpetrator's need to control the targeted individual.">

You need to note that not only "weakling" gets bullied at work, but "Strong" people who are highly intelligent, well-liked, kind-hearted, respectful, and socially acceptable also get bullied.
Some people may be targeted because they are seen as threats to the perpetrators (bullies), which is the situation I found myself then not any more. The irony of the situation in my own is that, the perpetrators are supposedly superior officers which I reports to on a daily basis.
For example, a co-worker (colleague) bullies you because you are closer to the boss or you are more knowledgeable or skilled and that co-worker is jealous of you for what he/she thinks you might achieve in a short time. You may not even know you are being bullied until you start to suffer some of the effects.
How do you know you have been bullied in your place of work? I will like to use my own story as an illustration.

My Story………………..
I work in an organization where a lot of politics is been played. I mean it was been played at all level of the system. Though, I know that politics is the order of the day now either played dirty or clean, but it should not be played at the detriment of loyal, hard-working, productive, committed employees, who are committed to doing their job well and getting result.
The bullies prefer to listen and assist mediocre who is not adding much value to the system just because he belongs to their strong cabal in the organization. (That does not looks fair).
One of the things I notice is that those that are given recognition to are those that are not truthful or honest in their dealings. They are bunch of hypocrite who pretends to love the so call bullies (perpetrators) but are lying. It just a case of if you are not ready to join them in their deceitful act, then you become their enemies, and they began to see you as a threat and someone that should be maltreated.
UF Executive Education - University of Florida
They begin to bully you by doing things like:
Excluding you from meetings and training either on-the-job or off-the-job training. No matter how important that meeting/training is to your performance on the job. You are still excluded from it, and that in the long-run affects your productivity and performance.
You are blocked from having access to important information to do the job effectively and efficiently.
You are allowed to get credit for the good job you have done because someone somewhere is sabotaging your work and efforts. Such thing hinders you from getting promoted as at when necessary, while others gets their own promotion without any hassle.
SafeopediaYou are been gossiped about all because you refuse to join a particular cabal that sees themselves as the movers and the shakers of the system. They even belittled the work you are doing. By making it looked irrelevant and unimportant.
Embarrassing you in the public venues through swearing or yelling for reasons uncalled for.
Making Scathing or inflammatory emails blaming you for a problem or issue, and as well bringing up your mistakes over and over again (especially in front of others) just to make you look stupid and incapable.
NoBullying
- Intentionally micro-managing you and thereby showing distrust in your skills, no matter how successful you have been.
And many other terrible things.
How can we solve this kind of maltreatment?
Firstly, try to stand up to the bully. Use an assertive and dialogue tone to point out their behaviors and your views of them. You are only attacking and addressing the bullying attitude in them and not their personality. This might be difficult to do but is still one the best ways to get everything resolved.

Secondly, try reporting those (bullies) to a more superior officer in the organization, especially if the bullying persisted. But if the bully is your supervisor then report him to his own superiors. Make sure you have your facts in order to present a good case.
Furthermore, what is the company’s policy to the problem of BULLYING because whether the management likes it or not, it’s a serious issue that can affect the entire performance and productivity of the organization if not checked. So the management must have a company's policy that addresses this issue of BULLYING in their system.
National Law Review
In conclusion, this is a clarion call to all business owners, director of organizations and every concern authorities, by bringing their attention to that BULLYING is a serious cancer that should not be treated with levity. They cannot allow the bullies to send away the good employees in their Organizations. Policies should be put in place by management to protect employees that are been victimized in any way.
We can reduce the level at which people commit suicide because bullying is a contributor to that menace in the society.

It’s a NO TO BULLYING campaign in our organizations and society at large. We are not going to stop until something is done about this. Everyone needs to embrace this call so that we can have dedicated employees given their best to the growth of our Organization.

Nice one
thank you.
This is really serious, I've been seeing this more closely.
That excluding from meeting part, or creating a scene for not doing a job quickly, which is usually something you should have been given earlier
Yeah! It's just a strategy to inconvenient you or make you feel incapable. I wish a lot of company can really look into this in other to save an innocent soul. Thanks for your comment and dropping by @sussan .
What a cruel world we live in. Instead of celebrating success inorder to be successful they envy and bully those who are doing well. Bullying in place of work is even more rampant. Have seen a case scenario where a superior wanted one of his junior staff to have fun with him and because of her refusal, it was hell for her in that office. My advise for every organisation or office is there should be a committee to check bullies because this is a menace that must be stopped Inorder to help people especially in offices perform their duties without fear or favour. Nice on @optimistdehinde am a big fan.
